Brian. Christmas, 1964, one of my earliest memories: going ‘downtown’ in London to see the Christmas lights with my mum. I was 5. This song was playing in every shop we visited. Thank you.🙏🏻

Brian… thanx for greeting us with this today … The great Petula Clark - Downtown - 1964… just what I needed. :o) I recall hearing it at home as a toddler.

Brings back fond memories of skating at the roller rink as a kid. They'd play the song everytime we went and everytime she sang the word "downtown" we'd all crouch down on our skates as we went around the rink. Usually the highlight of the session! That and Rhinestone Cowboy.
