Up next: Pewbeam, but for students. Upload your lecture notes and see references in realtime while you’re in class.

Clone, fork. Contribute on GitHub

😆

This meme 😂🤣😂

Haa what's going on here. These guys are just forking this OS. Well downside is that the team may get demoralised and a potential upside is that we may see a breakout of something remarkable from this

I’m gonna bet on the breakout, We need to see Yoruba, Hausa. Igbo and more native languages “beam” next

Won't be surprised someone is already working on that. At the end whoever is well positioned to scale this project will be the ultimate winner of this race

This race has no winners. Only finalists

Hmmm Let's see how this race end. I think once a business model is successful introduced the whole dynamics changes.

valid

Everyone is building a Pewbeam open source clones. Nice. I built this though (WIP). Built it to save me from time spent creating lyric videos for my songs. Works great with any audio media especially clear speech. Yes, it’s open source.

Love the idea, do you mind recording a demo or what the final output looks like. Only that part of the demo

This looks really good

Thanks to rhema

Does Rhema use Deepgram for NLP too ? Or something else locally ?

Deepgram. So far it’s the most efficient option with $200 free credit on signup.

No wonder so you’ll be running Rhema Locally but still calling the Deepgram API for NLP $200 free credit is crazy tho, I’ll try it out for something else I’m trying to build

yeah, I thought about that when considering latency. So server - deepgram just made sense. Local Whisper & Qwen on non GPU can be tricky. They work, but system specs are not always the guaranteed for most users.

Yeah that’s true especially cause the average PC in Nigeria especially for church goers is a lower end PC So I think that’s pretty good tbh

Pewbeam don suffer for una hand lol It shows they really thought of a great product

Super relatable problem. But it’s 2026 and code is cheap. I built this entire thing in 6 hours.

Nice try, but what about you do for songs? Or is it when some launches that y’all will now wake up?

Why is lyrics important to you? I’ve heard a couple comments about it but the need isn’t clear yet

@OfficialOla19 No one has implemented it yet, I believe t'will be the decisive factor for the winner, imagine as the song leader is singing, the lyrics is being displayed

@OfficialOla19 But this has been solved, lyrics in church service are deterministic. Worship teams rehearse 3 times an every week just to curate their set. Pastors OTOH go with the flow.

@SmithWandey Have you thought about guest ministers? pastors randomly singing songs not in easyworship archive?

@SmithWandey ok, that's one good scenario. This is also the beauty of open source. If you can find me a catalog, that lists the lyrics of every christian / gospel song in the world. I will build this feature out.

@SmithWandey Nice . Let’s do this. Just followed you

@SmithWandey I dey your back

See what I was able to do last week

Nice

Say your deepgram reference so I swapped local whisper for it. The speed is crazy now. Ready to ship the telegram version

LFG🔥🔥🔥

I will check it out asap

Lmk what you think

Its so good. Just did. I might clone it o Grant your guy permission

yooo.... feel free to 🤣🤣

Thanks chief 😅😅😅 I have started adding multiple translations and hymns

Tell me you’re going to send a PR The hymn addition will bang like mad ☺️

I swear. I will keep you posted

Open-source tools like this can foster great community contributions. Will it support plugin development?

@1852xx Yes, keen on seeing contributions to support more languages

Ok na, since everyone is on fire, there are so many other useful apps that can be built o. Let's not stop at Pewbeam. Let's look into every angle of the church. There's church accounting. There's attendance and followup. There's the ushering department and their many troubles.

There with you

@usexara_ai Already built one for myself No vibe and it’s opensource too If I decide I want a chat / mobile interface, it’s a freaking walk in the park

Why do people insert the “coded this in X hours” phrase?

The algorithm loveessss
