Not sure why people say Davion Mitchell is an elite defender… his defensive metrics aren’t bad, but definitely don’t match his reputation on defense Fair take if you’ve never seen him play… but then you watch his defense against Cade, SGA, and Ant over the last 2 years. Can’t forget to see how stats correlate to the actual tape - elite defender with great screen navigation and superb strength for his size. Honestly surprised his metrics aren’t better, but hoping he can at least get the defensive playmaking numbers up next year. *percentiles are position relative*

I will die on a hill that what Steph accomplished in his career is more IMPRESSIVE than Bron and KD. Curry is guarded like this nightly and has no physical advantages. Dude has a below average build for a NBA guy. Bron is a superhuman 6’9” 250 built like a tight end but moves like a nimble guard. He has a physical advantage and outmuscles the defense 95% of the time. KD at 7 feet has a height advantage on 95% of the defense and can just shoot over everyone. (🎥 raw_nba_highlights IG)

Keaton Wagler’s lack of strength and athleticism, are my two biggest concerns for his translation to the NBA as an on-ball creator and I think it shows up on both ends. For a player who plays so methodically and embraces contact he doesn’t generate enough lift off of one foot. As a player who profiles as an under the rim finisher, his in-between game is severely underdeveloped (27.8% on far 2’s vs T100 comp). Defensively, even when he’s in the correct position, players are just able to go through him and he doesn’t have the lift to block shots despite a rumored 6’10 wingspan. He’s still very young, and a late bloomer, so there’s a chance he adds significantly to his frame, but I view him as a risky pick at the top of this draft.
