Phang: Zuckerberg was forced to testify. And during that testimony, he basically said, “We do a really good job of maintaining a strong safety record on Instagram.’” He also said, “We think it’s terrible, but it’s hard to keep young people off these apps.” But here’s what really did...

Mark Zuckerberg on Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter Elon Musk famously reduced head count by 80% after acquiring Twitter. It was controversial at the time, but Mark is asked what he thinks Elon did well during it. Mark responds: “You can agree or disagree with the exact tactics and how he did that. Every leader has their own style… But a lot of the specific principles that he pushed on: making the organization more technical, decreasing distance between engineers at the company and him, fewer layers of management. I think that those were generally good changes.” Mark also believes this was good for the technology industry as a whole: “My sense is that there were a lot of other people who thought that those were good changes, but who may have been a little shy about doing them. Just in my conversations with other founders and how people have reacted to the things we’ve done… When people see what Elon is doing, I think that gives people the ability to think through how to shape their organizations in a way that can be good for the industry and make all these companies more productive over time.” He continues: “So I think that was one thing where he was quite ahead of a bunch of the other companies on… And from the outside, it’s very hard to know. Did he cut too much? Did he not cut enough? I don’t think it’s my place to opine on that… But certainly his actions led me and, I think, a lot of other folks in the industry to think about, ‘Hey, are we doing this as much as we should? Could we make our companies better by pushing on some of these same principles?’” Video source: Lex Fridman (2023)

The big issue in Sean "Diddy" Combs' appeal of his convictions and 50-month prison sentence is whether Judge Arun Subramanian wrongly increased the sentence because of fraud and coercion that shouldn't have been considered under a new sentencing guideline that prohibits judges from factoring in acquitted conduct. Subramanian said when sentencing Combs last October that the fraud and coercion enhancement was based on conduct related to Combs' convictions for transportation for prostitution, instead of only relating to his acquittals for racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. A three-judge panel at the 2nd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals heard argument on Thursday (April 9) in New York City. Combs' lawyer Alexandra Shapiro argued Judge Subramanian cited incidents that aren't actually connected to prostitution, including Combs threatening to release sexually explicit videos of Casandra "Cassie" Ventura during a flight home from the Cannes Film Festival. "There's no evidence that, even on the airplane, they were planning a so-called freak off. And moreover, there was no evidence in the record that there was a freak off other than Ms. Ventura's testimony," Shapiro said. "Wait, wait a minute. Pause, pause, pause. You just said there was no evidence other than a witness's testimony? Which is another way of saying there was trial evidence," said Judge William J. Nardini, a 2019 Donald Trump appointee. Shapiro said "not only was this argued to the jury in the summation, but the jury sent back a note asking for quote, 'Casandra Ventura testimony regarding Cannes and the events immediately following.'" "And we know that the jury rejected the notion ... that there was coercion and connection with that incident," Shapiro said. Nardini said he thought Shapiro was "just arguing a different thing, that the defendant did not have an intent for purposes of the Mann Act ... because then you were saying there was no evidence that a freak off even happened." The judge said Shaprio's argument is going beyond lack of coercion to "now you're saying they also found that none of this even happened. And I don't see how that follows." "That's not what I said," Shapiro said. "Well, you said there was no evidence that the freak off happened, except for Ventura's testimony. And then you were trying to argue the jury necessarily rejected Ventura's testimony. And I guess you're saying, because they rejected the argument of the government, that it was her testimony showed there was coercion, they must have rejected every single thing that Ventura said," the judge said. "That's not what I said," Shapiro said again. "Well, that was the implication. So let's back up," Nardini said. "Well that's not what I meant to imply," Shapiro said. "The whole Mann Act charges were basically an afterthought at this trial. They took up almost no time. The government relied principally on these two charts. And if you look at government exhibit 1402," Shapiro said as Nardini interjected. "I understand that, and you made that point very well in your brief. So isn't your argument really that what the government is doing here is mixing and matching. You're taking evidence from the claims that were acquitted to try to support the the Mann Act sentencing for purposes of the Mann Act, but none of that was presented to the jury for purposes of the Mann Act. Is that a summation of what, where —" Nardini said. "That's fair," Shapiro said. The judges have not yet issued their ruling. It could be at least a few weeks.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins: “You said that it’s up to Congress if the president’s face is on a $250 bill. But it is actually — The Washington Post that’s reporting two political appointees from the Treasury Department who have asked agencies to be ready to — to do that. Do you think politically, it’s a good idea to put his face on a $250 bill when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries?” Treasury Secretary Bessent: “You know, I don’t really understand this Washington Post article that — who here’s from The Post? Yeah. Terribly written, terribly edited. Because basically what it says is that Treasury is following the law and that we created the bill and that it’s up to Congress, but that — we follow the bill and it’s up to — I didn’t really understand what the story was.” Bessent: “So — anyway —” Collins: “So, these two political appointees aren’t involved in that? Two of your political appointees?” Bessent: “Yeah, of course, but we — we prepare for everything. If it gets passed, just like we — we were ready six months in advance of the one big, beautiful bill for tax guidance that. So, we have to prepare in advance. You can’t draw something up the day before.” Collins: “But, politically, do you think it’s a good idea, though, when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries?” Bessent: “Look, I think it has — I think that it’s bifurcated. That — do you think we should have a 250th anniversary — the celebration?” Collins: “Well, that’s happening anyway, but putting the President’s face on a $250 bill —” Bessent: “No, no, no, no, no, no, no.” Collins: “— is a choice.” Bessent: “But Kaitlin, it’s not happening anyway. It’s happening because it’s being funded by private citizens, by the federal government, by state governments, by municipal governments to celebrate our country, and I don’t think that there’s anything untoward about having the President of the United States — the person who was President of United States on the 250th anniversary bill.”

jl’s tmi on their acon 2025 experience with sb19: during acon, he was just *speechless*. he kept telling juwon that he hopes time would fly faster (so they can meet sb19 faster). “in philippines, i went to a lot sb19’s events but we never had the chance to share a stage, so this time i was really *happy*. i also went to their fancon in the ph once, they were really really good. an inspiration. so good.” juwon said jl got “성덕” (success as a fan) because he was just once a fan, but now also an idol that can communicate with their idol, also take photos, do challenges. jl sad there’s a lot he wants to say. when he found out sb19 was going to acon, he tried his best to make connections (probably to make sure they’ll interact) and luckily they said okay. as soon as they met, sb19 weren’t like “seniors”. they were friends, big brothers. they were so nice and kind (juwon and woongki agree). sb19 also talked to them a lot so it wasn’t awkward at all. when we were doing the dc, they (and the staff) were cheering for us so loud. jl also said there were a lot of filipinos, in the place they ate, in the hallways and even all of sb19’s staff. juwon said it was comforting for jl, and refreshing for him. jl said “these people.. they look like me! there were so many filipino and it’s been a while since i’ve been to philippines so i really loved it.” he also said it’s been a while since he spoke tagalog and juwon said when they met sb19, he struggled speaking tagalog 😆 jl said he got confused because he uses 3 languages. #아홉 #AHOF AHOF #SB19 SB19 Official

Inspired talking about Skewmond and" the best jungler in the west" debate Q: Everyone was talking a lot of Skewmond, and I would like to know about: do you believe like the series put an end to any debate about the best jungler in the West? Inspired: To me, there was never a debate. I knew that I’m always the best, but I think Skewmond is a good player. I wouldn’t say that he had any phenomenal series, though, this tournament. I think he, against T1, he still made a lot of mistakes. When he was stronger, he didn’t really try to fight enemies, and or sometimes just over committed a bit, and I think G2 won against T1 just by waiting for T1 to make mistakes. I think today, I think Skewmond played well in the team fights. I think every time he was on my screen and we’re like skirmishing and team fighting, I think he did a good job. But I think just like team wise, and like how they all played together as a team and use their jungler was wrong. And it’s hard to say, as I always said, that don’t really know who’s there like which jungler is good because you don’t really know what was his idea beyond the game plan, what his teammates wanted to do. But it just seems like they were not connected well enough, and on top of that, as I said, I think the drafts were not that great. So yeah, I think he’s a good player, but I think they need to work more on team synergy in order to actually pressure when they’re strong if they want to be like the best in the world, because I think they definitely can, but need to work a bit more.
