This is the ultimate flex. Most rock stars need costumes, lights, and attitude to sell the show. Phil walked out there looking like he was on his lunch break from H&R Block and absolutely leveled the stadium. It proves that if the product is actually perfect, you don't need fancy packaging.

Honestly, that's part of his charm. Phil just did his thing, goofy sweaters and all, and still crushed it on stage. Kinda makes you realize it's really all about the talent and not the look. If you can move people with your music, that's what sticks. It actually makes me like him more - he never tried too hard to be anything other than himself. Would've loved to see one of those concerts live!

The man is a total phenomenon. The sheer amount of hits he wrote is crazy. All while considering himself essentially a drummer and looking and behaving like an accountant. He's quite a good singer, too, you know, because, why not… incredible.

Wow he’s up there in a plain white tee looking like he just got out of the office still dropping the sickest drum fill of all time.

His clothes were as real as his music *Rewinds!* Were and still ARE! Im not saying out there dresscodes/fashion statements are a bad thing,just depends on whos wearing them. Prince is my alltime favourite solo male artist (and with bands) But he also started wearing clothes during a time where he would go from being harassed over it to starting trends/opening peoples minds and eyes. And his persona suited to have that style. In most cases though,i will rather listen to someone where the music is the main thing,its in the artists main focus. I dont necessarily mean that i hate the Sabrina Carpenters,the Tate McRaes etc of the world today. I like Tates voice in particular,and she looks good. BUT,i dont really like to see over-sexualized concerts,where it takes away the main focus from the music. I see them simulate sex on stage "trying to be like Madonna",not really understanding that she was young during a different time,she did it with numberous ideas and plans. Racism was at an alltime high,so was the suicide rate amongst gays/lesbians. Thats why she hired MAINLY gay backup dancers,all with different cultural backgrounds,minorities. Her 2 female backup singers and dancers,Niki Haris and Donna De Lory often had a look or a presence of "representing" lesbians. Madonna had a plan with everything. She did the music video for Like A Prayer to speak up against racism and to adress certain higher up men in "religious positions". She got alot of hate from them for that music video,but she did it to start opening peoples eyes/heads. Provocative and controversial? For sure,but always with a higher purpose! These young women today simulating strippers and sex on stage,do it for cloth/attention only. And i seriously doubt its theyr own idea,to ALL fo the exact same BS. They are controlled by Elites,telling them what to do. Give me a Phil Collins any day of the weak over someone like Peter Andre (if anyone remembers him lol) And give me some Adele any day of the weak,over Sabrina Carpenter. (A couple of her songs gets me humming/vibing along,but for the most part it feels like super repetitive,fabricated "noise") I had the pleasure of co-interviewing this guy (Phil Collins) while he was in his prime,his albums were still topping the charts,and so was his singles. He would have had any reason in the book to be a diva,just like everyone else around him at the time. But he took his time to chitchat with us,making us forget that we even did an interview. Would compliment our english (i was not even of legal age at that point,i was a "whippersnapper" lol) When the nerves disappeard,he went "alright,now we can start,ask me anything you guys want". And he meant it,anything goes,he would answer it. No questions were too stupid,making sure we didnt feel insecure about asking. One of my first ever interview experiences as working in radio,as a DJ etc (multi functional young whippersnapper) And i can say even till this very day,i have not met anyone before or after Phil Collins,that made me feel soo relaxed,that made me feel like i was catching up with a long lost friend or a relative. It was an absolute blast,and he was the kindest,funniest,most down to earth,caring and loving celebrity ever,point blank period. To me,Phil Collins is one of the absolute greatest artists that has ever lived on this earth. Now,give him the honor of being knighted,god damnit lol! If people that has done far less then Phil has,lived far less then Phil has,can be honored like that,then why hold back on Phil? Phil Collins should have been knighted back when Elton John got knighted!

The rest of the band is playing at a wedding; the drummer is playing at the end of the world. He’s on a completely different frequency and I love it.

It’s a shame that a lot of today’s generation don’t really know his music. There was a time he was an ever present on the charts, hit after hit after hit. Songs that still fill my playlists today. He was a reluctant front man who found his calling with spectacle or props!
