Collins is quoted as saying: “Singing in German was easier than I thought. I was wrong thinking that French would be the easiest language and German the most difficult. I learned the lyrics phonetically. I do not speak German , but I think this language always sounds very good, very elegant. Of course there were one or two problems with the pronunciation. In any case it was very interesting for me to sing in the various languages.”

Phil Collins recorded the songs from the Tarzan soundtrack in multiple languages, including French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

One of the greatest sound tracks of all time. I remember getting this on cassette while they still lasted. I would replay his songs over and over.

Phil Collins's rendition of "Tarzan" in multiple languages demonstrates his universal appeal and the timelessness of the music from the Disney classic.

Phil Collins not only recorded the Tarzan soundtrack in English but also took on the challenge of singing in French, German, Italian, and Spanish. This effort was unique because, unlike typical dubbing practices where local artists perform the songs, Collins himself recorded the tracks in these languages.

Phil Collins' songs for "Tarzan" encapsulate the essence of the jungle and human connection. "You'll Be in My Heart" won an Academy Award, its simple melody conveying deep emotion.
