Phillip: Where you here in 2019 when Republicans shut down the government and when the president actually said, I am not going to fund the government until I get my border wall. Were you here when that happened? You remember that this actual tactic of shutting down the government in order to get a negotiation on an ancillary issue is one that has been with us for some time? Republicans have repeatedly used it to shut down the government during a Republican administration.

The Senate MUST have 60 votes to pass a spending bill. The Republicans only have 54 votes. It is a FACT that the Democrats have shut down the government. Only the truth will stop the lies.

The next government shutdown could hit at the end of this month, and if the budget bill includes more funding for ICE, then shut it down. Shut the government down. ICE is a horror show of abuse, a violent culture, and routine human rights violations. Every Democrat in Congress should be talking about it the way Adriano Espaillat is. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

If Senate Democrats want to shut down the government over DHS, let them own it. What should end immediately is the silent filibuster that lets aging politicians grind the Senate to a halt without saying a word. If you want to block a bill, stand on the floor and make the case.

Jeffries: 2018-2019, they shut the government down for 35 days. When the shutdown began, Trump was president, Republicans controlled the House and the Senate… They shut themselves down. That’s how much it’s in their DNA

Pence: Let’s be clear on this point. It wasn't that they asked for a pause. The president specifically asked me and his gaggle of crackpot lawyers asked me to literally reject votes which would have resulted in the issue of being turned over to the house of representatives

Democrats shut down the government over healthcare for illegal aliens. Meanwhile, our Veterans are in literal tears over the terrible healthcare we provide them. Every American should watch this.

You can lead a person to Congress, but you can’t make them think. It would be a huge mistake for Democrats to shut down the government again in January—and it would be terrible for the American people.

If some people would put down their juice boxes and crayons and do a little reading, they would realize the Senate needs 60 votes to reopen the government. This is a Democrat shutdown, and they know it.
