Announced at #PAS25: the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace has declared the Full Operational Capability of its #A400M fleet. An essential milestone that goes beyond capabilities, it concerns the full fleet envelope of the A400M operative. A Full Operational Capability is based on aircraft, but also is about crews, maintenance, training and infrastructure, including the last certification reached with the aircraft: the ability to drop a special-forces boat for the French Navy Commandos, which was achieved last February. With 24 aircraft and more than 10 years in operation, the French A400M fleet has achieved a definitive level of maturity.

Even as Ramstein Flag continues at full scale, NATO Allied air forces remain ready to respond to real-world events at a moment's notice. Portuguese 🇵🇹 F-16s and French 🇫🇷 Rafale fighters were scrambled on separate occasions as part of NATO Air Policing missions over the Baltic region. Just before the weekend, Força Aérea Portuguesa F-16s conducted an interception to identify and monitor Russian 🇷🇺 aircraft operating near Baltic airspace, contributing to the security and surveillance of NATO's eastern flank. At the start of this week, Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace Rafales intercepted and identified an uncrewed aerial system (UAS) crossing into Latvian airspace from the east. Following identification and in accordance with established procedures, the drone was engaged and destroyed. The aircraft subsequently conducted an additional surveillance mission along the eastern border of the Baltic states. On July 25, a FFrench Air & Space Force A400M has been equipped with a Roll-on/Roll-off (RO-RO) firefighting prototype kit to support the efforts in the combat against wildfires. Last week, I flew with the Royal Air Force, the Red Arrows. 🇬🇧 Seven jets. Eight feet apart. 400 miles an hour. Every bit of it flown by hand. I was in the back seat of the lead jet for their full display, the first time I’ve ever done something like that so close to another aircraft. The team made the trip over from the UK to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday and are wrapping up an epic 6-week tour in the United States. Massive thank you the entire Red Arrows for the opportunity. 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Full episode coming later this year.

The kinetic phase of the exercise featured employment of First-Shoot, First-Kill swing-role combat aircraft, equipped with long range beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles, extended-range air-to-ground stand-off weapons, and precision strike capabilities. These operations were comprehensively supported by force multipliers, including Air-to-Air Refuelers and Airborne Early Warning & Control platforms, enabling precise and effective targeting of adversary centres of gravity. 🎥 Behind-the-scenes footage of the RAF Museum’s latest acquisition, the General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper, making its way onto the Royal Air Force Cosford airfield ready for the RAF Cosford Air Show this Sunday! 🎉 This will be the first opportunity for aviation fans to see it on display.✈️👀 The Reaper entered service with the RAF in 2007 and was its first combat-capable remotely piloted aircraft system, or ‘drone’ 🚁. The Reaper’s ability to loiter over targets undetected has given it an invaluable role in intelligence gathering 🛰️ and precision strike operations 🎯 in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. The Reaper retired from global RAF operations in 2025 after 18 years of service 🫡. 🏛️ The Reaper will become the first aircraft of its type to enter a UK museum collection. 🎥 Behind-the-scenes footage of the RAF Museum’s latest acquisition, the General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper, making its way onto the Royal Air Force Cosford airfield ready for the RAF Cosford Air Show this Sunday! 🎉 This will be the first opportunity for aviation fans to see it on display.✈️👀 The Reaper entered service with the RAF in 2007 and was its first combat-capable remotely piloted aircraft system, or ‘drone’ 🚁. The Reaper’s ability to loiter over targets undetected has given it an invaluable role in intelligence gathering 🛰️ and precision strike operations 🎯 in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. The Reaper retired from global RAF operations in 2025 after 18 years of service 🫡. 🏛️ The Reaper will become the first aircraft of its type to enter a UK museum collection. Airstrikes Destroy ISWAP Stronghold, Logistics Hub in Borno By Zagazola Makama The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has sustained its relentless air campaign against terrorist elements in the North-East, destroying a key terrorist enclave and logistics hub during a precision air interdiction mission in Borno State.
