Islamabad : 20 July , 2026. H.E. Ms. Anita Anand, Foreign Minister of Canada, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, earlier today. Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, and other senior government officials were also present. During the warm and cordial meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the Canadian Foreign Minister to Pakistan and stated that the two countries enjoyed friendly ties that needed to be further expanded, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture including agri-foods and vaccine manufacturing, renewable energy, as well as the automobile and auto parts industry. He conveyed his greetings and best wishes for Prime Minister Mark Carney and said that he looked forward to meeting him soon. H.E. Mr. Ahmad Al-Hajjar, Minister of Interior and Municipalities of Lebanon, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Housing Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Minister of state for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present. Islamabad : 28 July 2026. A U.S. Congressional delegation, comprising Rep. Ryan Zinke and Rep. Michael Baumgartener, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House this afternoon. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Natalie Baker were also present. During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed both U.S. Congressmen to Pakistan and said that their visit was a welcome step towards building stronger Pakistan-U.S. ties. While congratulating the Congressmen and the American people on the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence, the Prime Minister also conveyed his warm regards and best wishes for President Donald Trump. The Prime Minister fondly recalled President Trump’s bold and decisive intervention that led to cessation of hostilities and ceasefire between Pakistan and India in May 2025, and helped saved hundreds of millions of lives. On bilateral relations, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan was keen to further strengthen its cooperation with the U.S. in trade, investment, agriculture, IT, mines & minerals and the energy sector. Both Congressmen thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality extended to them during their visit.
