Tether is turning its $23 billion gold pile into a lending business Tether is bringing its tokenized gold token XAUT to crypto lender Ledn, with gold-backed loans expected to go live later this year. Holders will be able to borrow against their bullion instead of selling it, mirroring Ledn's bitcoin-backed lending model. Tether holds roughly $23B in physical gold, around 140 metric tons, ranking it among the world's top 30 corporate holders. Each XAUT represents one troy ounce stored in Swiss vaults.

Had my mind blown today by how simple it was to buy Tokenized Gold.
