Who installs the drain to be higher than the floor/basin?

In my country we have physics called electromagnetism where you can plug a device in the wall socket and throw it in the water and walk away, the water will pump out magically while I enjoy a Coors light.

Or you could install the drain properly.

He's effectively creating a vacuum inside the cup. The rim is submerged in water meaning that when gravity forces the water inside the cup through the tube, it creates an area of low pressure. This allows for the pressure outside the cup to push water into the cup, which creates a cycle.

Cut the pipe shorter. Now you dont have to do this every single time

Or, take a garden hose and put on end in the tub. The other end at the water source, then turn it on and once the air is out of the hose, kink it near the water source outlet so it doesn't lose water keeping the other end in the tub and then take the kinked end and have it lower than the tub and let go. My 95yr old father taught me that to get rid of water in a hot tub that has no drain.

Or you could, ya know, put in a proper drain instead of relying on a party trick.

Wouldn’t work, basic physics, water level would stay the same on the outside if the bottle as the inside. They aren’t showing something I.e. the liquid being drained behind the camera view.

I find it much easier to put the drain in the bottom, then the water just runs out
