Millions of Canadians voted for the CPC based on the assurance the CPC would stand up against government edicts, mandates & overreach. Now the Universal Ostrich Farm and hundreds of other British Columbia farmers face mandatory cull orders. The Leader of the Official Opposition won't even mention the cull order or say ostrich. One BC farm has faced 4 cull orders. The Provincial government says they have no control over any of this because the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is a Federal agency. I never changed my stance on freedom, Pierre has. He could have called out the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for not only taking over a farm, but cutting security camera feeds, leaving an ostrich to suffer & die & the torment CFIA has inflicted on the farm owners. Dozens of police officers are surrounding the farm, while not wearing PPE. Which is proof this is not about a medical crisis or a virus outbreak, but government thuggery. Mark Carney purchased 500,000 H5N1 vaccines and the Public Health Agency of Canada has stated they intend to use those vaccines "as part of Canada’s contingency planning to protect people who may be at increased risk of being exposed to the virus through animals infected with avian influenza". Then Mark Carney went and signed us onto the legally binding World Health Organization Pandemic Treaty. Once again, Pierre has been silent on all of this, since winning re-election in an August by-election. Many of his supporters have no idea about much of this because Pierre refuses to publicly address the numerous issues at stake, happening right now in BC. All Conservatives should be denouncing this weak leadership and demanding action from Pierre or demanding he step aside and allow someone else to take over. $440 USD for this tiny shopping cart of food in El Salvador😵‍💫 I run a foundation. We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing food in local markets and for MANY things the prices are not that different from regular grocery stores. Like blueberries! $5 for a tiny cup! This is not just a problem in El Salvador but all over the world. My cousins in Canada can barely afford to buy meat for their children. Certain groceries in the states has nearly tripled since Covid. I am noticing something.. fewer and fewer people want to work on farms. They want jobs making money online. They want to live in cities to live a “modern” life. What happens if these prices keep moving up? What happens if minimum wage stays the same? What happens if god forbid the USD crashes like what happened in Venezuela? Learn how to farm! It is super therapeutic. It is beautiful. It is healthy… some people promote bitcoin. Statement of Singapore PM on Hormuz Crisis The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for more than two months. The impact is being felt not just through higher prices but also through tightening supply. Here in Asia, we are especially affected because of our high dependence on energy and other critical supplies from the Gulf. Some countries in our region are already facing fuel shortages, as you can see from the news. Airlines have cut flights. Factories are reporting delays, and the disruptions will not stop at energy. Fertilizer, food, and other essential inputs will be hit next. We can expect shortages of more items to emerge. Even when the Strait reopens, it will not mean an immediate return to normal. Why? Because ports and energy infrastructure have been damaged, and shipping lanes will need to be cleared of mines. Confidence must be restored that it is safe for ships to sail through, that insurance can be obtained, and that people are prepared to take the risks involved in transiting the Strait. These things do not recover overnight. It will take months, at the very least, before the situation stabilizes. So we should not expect this crisis to end anytime soon. In fact, the pressures are likely to intensify. Supply disruptions will persist and may worsen in the months ahead. Globally, inflation will rise, spreading from energy to food and then to other essentials. Some economies may well slip into recession, and Singapore will feel the impact directly. Our growth this year has been slow, inflation will be higher, and all of this will put real pressure on businesses, workers, and households.
