Piers Morgan read the open letter Greeks wrote after learning Christopher Nolan's $250,000,000 epic “The Odyssey” cast not one Greek actor. “Greek people did not disappear after the age of myth. Greek culture was not frozen in classical marble. Greek language was not extinguished in antiquity. We are STILL HERE!”

I want to see an Odyssey movie, with 100% Greek actors, spoken in Greek (I'll happily read the movie), with authentic armor/weapons in a shot for shot adaptation of the poem with modern day effects.

Homer named Helen for Greece, Hellas..Hellenic..Hellenistic!! Casting her as a sub Saharan African is an abomination & an insult to the greatest ancient civilization. Without Greece..no Rome, no Byzantium, no Venice, no France, no Britain & no USA..take that in!

They cucked the punisher too?

A very disrespectful film to history, to culture and to the peoples that are represented in the story. These depictions leave a very bitter taste.

I understand their frustration. I will certainly not watch this movie for various reasons. However, we must always consider freedom. Nolan is free to make any movie he wants with any kind of actors. We have the freedom to watch or not watch it. It's a good system overall.

Nolan cast Tom Holland as Odysseus when Greece has literally produced Oscar nominees. Tell me again how this is about "finding the best actor for the role" lol

"The fakes that launched a thousand quips." - RickGenie Begun the meme wars they have 😏.😘

But it was important to make a trans person who weighs 110 pounds a warrior.

People don’t want woke bullshit. They want some form of realism. You gotta ugly ass Helen and a little girl playing “the greatest warrior of all time”

They're all guns blazing to try and stop the bleeding 😂

Ha. Throw their identity politics right back in their faces. Love it!

@Aarchimandrita Είμαστε ακόμη εδώ και 1 δισεκατομμύριο Οθωμανοί, Άραβες και Τούρκοι δεν θα το αλλάξουν.

Hypocrisy is something most of us don’t like, but this movie is a big steaming pile of lt. Prior to this, cultural appropriation was a big issue. But now we get a huge “ never mind “, it’s different now. Diversity is the new code word we have to swallow.

I lost all respect for Dr Hanson when he was too terrified to speak the truth about the casting no moral courage imagine 2 youtubers defending the Greeks more than one of the most preeminent Greek historians shameful

It’s insane they used the cast they did. It’s even more of an insult they didn’t even have a premiere in Greece. Greece should ban the film from making any profit till it comes out online via 🏴☠️

Just another woke DEI virtue signaling piece of Hollywood BS I’ll never watch.

They seem to be getting Moama cast correctly but absolutely cocked up The Odyssey … why?

He could not cast Greek people for this blasphemy. Grerk culture is the purest form and the blueprint of civilazation BEFORE it got destroyed by the #WokeMindVirus. It also had transgenderism TOGETHER with masculinity and feminism. But this totalitarian cancer destroys it all.

Being Greek doesn’t automatically qualify you as a world class actor and a right to star in a movie.

The Greek are still here but they wont be for much longer. That's why they make the movie without the ethnic Greek. They are appropriating the culture and rewriting the history whilst the Greek (and Europeans) are in the final stretch of their civilisation. In a mere 30 years the continent has gone to 95% native European births to 60% native European births. Fertility is down to 1.3-1.4 which includes the important masses. Real fertility stands close to 1 for the natives of the whole continent. This means in another 30 years, native births will collapse with another 40-50%. These are the final decades of a dying continent. The hollywood people know this, the Greek people are in denial. Just do the math. We have a final window of just a few years to turn things around.

Please name one good Greek actor. I dare

Powerful words! 🇬🇷 Culture and heritage deserve to be represented authentically. Greek stories should feature Greek voices — respect where it’s due!

It gets worse. I heard that there weren't any Trojans in it either.

Can we do Shaka Zulu with not one South African actor?

But they added Africans and transgenders. Isn't that enough. And I think these Greeks a being racist, the culture belongs to everyone, isn't it? Well, unless it is a culture of minorities. Then it belongs only to them and no racist white is allowed to appropriate it

Indigenous people watched white actors play us for decades while Hollywood portrayed us as the villains. Authentic representation matters, whether the story is Greek, Indigenous, or anyone else’s.

Oh please get over it! If you want a Greek cast make a Greek version.

should’ve had mel do it he would’ve done right by the greeks and the original text

Weren't we lectured by the nut jobs that only blacks can plays blacks, queers can play queers, etc etc etc?

Maybe Nolan should have made a movie about his heritage in 1200 bc... i heard they lifted some heavy rocks and made a circle out of them in Britain around that time. I have a script it goes like this... find big rock, hit with hammer, lift rock... the end. starring elliot paige.
