To believe this “scientific” approach one has to really really wanna believe it. This is why I say that atheism is actually a faith based effort. They claim to know what they can’t know because they haven’t been everywhere and throughout time. The agnostic who shrugs his shoulders is a far more reasonable though can just as likely be wrong.

Profilbild von mark proeger

No, Dawkins did not “destroy” Morgan. In fact, he defeated his own argument when he said that our minds are incapable of understanding due to millions of years of evolution on the African plains. In fact, if that is true, we have no reason to trust our minds whatsoever including as it pertains to evolution, biology etc.

Oh come on, of course there is a before. Take the Higgs Boson as and example, it always existed ‘before’ it was discovered, able to be materialised by the LHC. More importantly part of the problem with physics is physicists! They are too bogged down with the known knowns! So humans have only become intelligent in the last 200 years ? Of course not, our intelligence has been suppressed by this narrow school of thought and teaching of the apparent known knowns. Thank goodness for AI, WE, might finally throw off the shackles of so called intelligent people and let free thought breakdown the elitist barriers.

@kaizen000000000 there was something before the big bang. Maybe not what we can think of, but there was something. Logically, “nothing” will remain “nothing”. The “thing” we experience now came from “something” that was already here

Only he doesn't, does he? He just does what scientists do: concede that they don't understand and don't have the answers. “God has placed eternity in the heart of man.” That is why, as the Prof admits, there is the transcendent. Then we get to the foolish bit. “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.” It seems, sir, that you are being foolish!

@kaizen000000000 Hey @PiersUncensored ... What were your thoughts about the Big Bang before you were born? See how that works? You didn't have any thoughts or opinions about the Big Bang before you were born, because you didn't exist yet... Now apply that concept to time...

@kaizen000000000 We are a bubble of a universe, separate from but also born from a multiverse or black hole. Gods may have been created for psychological comfort, but the collective energy manifested is powerful, so it's real. Maybe just not how we understand It.

@kaizen000000000 If you accept the premise of a “god” before the Big Bang, who created everything. It then begs the question- who created that “god”. Because according to you there had to be a “before”. It would then take a more intelligent being to create that “god”. And, so forth, infinitely…

@kaizen000000000 If you asked Piers what came before God and the world’s creation in Genesis, he would say “nothing” or “i don’t know” without any confusion about it. But the same answer applied to the big bang twists him in knots for some reason.

No different to say “I can not comprehend God. Because you are not a Christian.” Both these arguments are based on faith: physicists have faith in their argument as do Christians to theirs . But here is a nugget : God has given us faith; to all, also a physician to believe in something that does not make any sense

Piers thinks that if he doesn’t understand something it means it’s impossible for it to exist. Profilbild von Milan Malina
Milan Malinavor 4 Monaten

I’m fine with what he say about the “science” part, but he is completely ignorant about how God is described in religious texts such as Holy Quran or Holy Bible. Piers can’t clarify? Why? Piers thinks that if he doesn’t understand something it’s impossible for it to exist. That’s ridiculous too. And the Dawkins guy can’t argue that either? It’s so simple… Like a blind person who’s never seen the color red for example, he doesn’t understand it either, cannot imagine it. With Piers logic red wouldn’t exist. The concept of reality as we know itself is not always applicable. Time included. God, Universe, Creator, doesn’t matter how you call Him. He exists beyond that concept of reality. “Allah (God) is described as Al-Awwal (The First) and Al-Akhir (The Last), indicating a beginningless and endless existence. Allah exists without place, time, or spatial constraints, as nothing resembles Him.” Humans use our limited concepts of reality to think of something that we can not possibly have any concept about.

Profilbild von 么 ꜱ ᴀ ᴍ ꪜ,
么 ꜱ ᴀ ᴍ ꪜ,vor 4 Monaten

You’re already assuming God exists, and that’s exactly the point Richard Dawkins is challenging. The debate isn’t “what is God like,” it’s “what evidence is there that God exists at all.”!!!!!!!!!!’ Defining God as beyond time, space, and reality doesn’t prove anything it just makes the claim impossible to test. That’s why Piers Morgan seems to “struggle” because the claim is being assumed, not demonstrated.

Profilbild von Milan Malina
Milan Malinavor 4 Monaten

I am assuming “something exists” and it doesn’t matter how you call it. What is the evidence God exist? Fine-tuned parameters of the Universe, if they were just slightly off life wouldn’t be possible. Scientists who believe in God confirm that there seems to be “an intelligent creator”. But is there any direct evidence? No, not really. But what evidence would you need? I mean, how do you know anything for that matter? If a doctor gives you pills do you take them? How do you know they will work? Can you be sure it’s the right pills? Do you check with every prescription? What if they made a mistake at the pharmacy and used a wrong container or a wrong label? Do you perform lab analysis of the actual pills to check what they actually contain? Or you “just take them”? Seems to be like faith more than anything, especially knowing the wrong pills/qty combo could quite literally kill a person. So you can’t know if taking the pills heals you or kills you, you “only” BELIEVE that your doc didn’t make a mistake, the pharmacist didn’t make a mistake, containers are correct and I could continue. People go through their everyday with just beliefs and faith while not even realizing. They assume “most likely scenario” and use it as a substitute for “knowing” But the moment you mention anything about God or a divine Creator they want 100% proof which doesn’t even really exist. So the real question is, what’s more likely? Is there a Creator, God, an entity that can be best described as omnipotent, all-knowing, timeless, above worldly who caused our existence, defines purpose and the fate of our lives and decides what happens after? How else would you explain consciousness? Seems pretty solid idea compared to: Universe “just happened to somehow get created”, with the perfect settings to allow life to form. Somehow consciousness it a think with humans but everything else is just a bio-machine, insect just few neurons not too different from us just way less, but that’s not conscious. Where do you then draw the line? What’s soul? Is there even something like that? If so, where? If not how the hell are we conscious then? What happens after death? We just stop existing? Go where? If you know physics you know something doesn’t just disappear. Fine our bodies decompose but again, our consciousness? I could continue like that. I think not believing in a Creator is way less logical, “scientific” and creates just more questions. And maybe not having 100% proof is exactly the point of faith itself. If people could directly prove God, with 100% certainty belief, faith would become pointless. That’s all for my rant

I used to hold out for old Piers, I guess I’m going to have to retire him from my feed. He just undressed himself. 1). I’m not sure he understands logic to begin with. 2). It’s conjecture to think there was anything before the big bang. (It’s a theory which until recently was the theory was carried forward from 1927. Proposed by Belgian physicist Georges Lemaître. It’s just a theory! 3). Followers of this theory postulate that before the bb there wasn’t “time” obviously because there wasn’t mass. E=mc^2

Profilbild von sticknamera

What a nonsensical argument. If our brains were not built to understand the universe how is it that we became to have some understanding of the universe, and why do we care to in the first place if we were just meant to ‘survive on the African Plains’. Why is it that a physicists brain is an exemption to this rule. The big picture is physics was made intentionally obscure and purposely as nonsensical and confusing in order to attract people who will only stick to the dogma to stop the advancement of it. It’s been admitted the US government silo’s certain areas of physics to stop its advancement. For a guy who battled against religion his whole life modern physics functions EXACTLY like one. Show me physical proof of string theory, you’ll get a man with an abstract series of equations telling you his book proves it. Exactly like if you asked a Christian show me the physical existence of God they will pull out their book and use it as proof. They will cite scripture (physicists will derive string theory equations then say something retarded like “and that’s why the universe is made up of mostly matter we can’t see, detect, measure, or thoroughly explain). It’s pretty simple, they made a left turn somewhere instead of a right and until they are willing to admit it, they will continue to be more dogmatic about their arguments.
