I think his charming personality in the pilot was all just a facade to seem a bit more friendly so that Charlie would be more inclined towards accepting Alastor's offer. Once Charlie accepted, he could drop the act a bit. Tho I agree, pilot Al >> show Al
The pilot made it seem as if his reputation came from the fact that people understood he could snap his fingers and end their existence, yet couldn’t tell if he’d do so cause of his smile. The show, however, abused the fact that he HAD powers, instead of him indulging fear… sad

Pilot vs show Alastor have such different energies it’s honestly super funny. In the pilot he’s just “insane unhinged radio man” and now he’s “malevolent demonic radio man.” Love em both but I’ll always have a soft spot for Pilot Al ❤️
