The biggest upgrade that nobody is talking about in Ghost of Yotei has been done to exploration: Ubisoft-style checklist open world is completely GONE. They have FINALLY removed the question marks from the map and now inspired by Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption 2's exploration, nothing is marked. YOU have to explore, find clues and listen to locals to find opportunities and locations rather than follow a boring checklist, stuff gets marked only after Atsu discovers a clue about it or surveys it from a distance with her spyglass, a massive upgrade to immersion.
