After more than a year away, our old friend Nguvu stopped by! Nguvu is a unique orphan. We rescued him in 2016 after he became stuck in a drying waterhole. Our Voi Keepers managed to haul him out using ropes and a pulley, but he was so exhausted it took four days of tender care and ample food before he was finally able to stand up unaided. His name – 'Nguvu' – means 'strength' in Kiswahili, and within a few years he quickly transitioned to the wild. While his time in our care was briefer than most orphans, he still circles back to see us. This time, it had been 18 months since his last visit to Voi! We don't know when Nguvu's next visit will be, but whenever he is in the mood for home, we will be here to welcome him. Meet our orphan herd on a journey back to the wild:

so i’ve been seeing tweets about how liam sang the first line of wmyb and the last line of history and it’s gut wrenching. but i also wanted to expand on that, not so much to break our hearts, but to show - in numbers - how fucking amazing Liam has always been. this is how i’m choosing to deal with my grief… **as a disclaimer, this is NOT a dig at any of the other boys. i’m a ride or die ot5 so don’t try to play me. this is just a celebration of liam bc he deserves it. so not only was liam integral in forming 1d, but he was also a key factor for keeping them on xfactor. we have the receipts that liam was the first one chosen basically back in 2008 and the other 4 were chosen during that table discussion that was released last yr [tbh they were scouting for boys to form the band with liam before the 2010 season but that’s for another time] in the video below, you’ll see that liam soloed at the start of the song that got them through to the live shows [torn], and then he soloed at the start of every single song they sang on the xfactor. literally every single song! i didn’t think to do the math, but he also soloed at the end of a lot of them too. he was the anchor for the band at that time. then the albums started: up all night, take me home, midnight memories, four, and made in the am. and guess what? liam had the most solos [by 1 but the point is they didn’t decrease his solos to make room for the others]. here they are in the order of the albums [obviously zayn had to drop out of the race] Liam: 18, 19, 17, 16, 18 = 88 Harry: 18, 19, 16, 16, 18 = 87 Louis: 8, 20, 17, 16, 18 = 79 Niall: 8, 18, 17, 16, 18 = 77 Zayn: 18, 19, 16, 16 = 69 idk if the band or their team made sure to make the solos pretty equal after uan, but obviously it was the right move. so all i wanted to show was that without 14yo liam making it as far as he did in 2008 and sc seeing his potential [and his own potential for greed], one direction may never have been formed. and if it did form without liam, it would likely not have been the powerhouse that it was from the very beginning bc it would have been without its anchor.

🦌 &team, right. i met up with k hyung from &team. let me tell you the story. i just parted ways with him. so, i met up with k hyung. he had told me before, "if you come to japan, hit me up. let’s grab a meal." but honestly, everyone says things like that, and actually following through to the point where you sit down and eat together isn’t that easy. you get what i mean, right? it’s kind of like when someone asks, "hey, are you going through a tough time these days?" a lot of the time, they’re not genuinely offering to sit down and listen or comfort me. most of the time, it just means they’re curious about how i’ve been and want to catch up on my life. but when i actually reached out to k hyung, he immediately said he was free today, so we went out for a meal and then stopped by a café. and honestly, it was so much fun. even though it was our first time eating together, i felt more comfortable than i do with some of my hometown friends. since he speaks korean well, it made things even easier. and as for me, i’ve learned just enough japanese to at least try and make k hyung laugh. i tried being a little playful, and luckily, k hyung laughed at my jokes. that was a relief, i would’ve been embarrassed otherwise. i laughed a lot, and k hyung did too. we ate, and since k hyung likes walking, we walked around a bit too. he started this career way earlier than i did, so he gave me some advice. but honestly… i don’t even remember what we talked about. it’s like when you meet up with an old friend and later think, "wait, what did we even talk about?" and you can’t remember anything. i was so happy. when i go to apgujeong with hanbin hyung or gunwook, i tend to say, "since we’re in apgujeong, i’ll pay." but when we go often, we just take turns paying. so when i went to apgujeong with gunwook to eat kalguksu, i was like, "i’ll pay this time, but when we go to osan, you cover it." we joke around like that. but k hyung did the same thing. seriously… k hyung was really just like me… it felt like if we met a second time, one of us might disappear, like what happens to doppelgänger or something, just way too similar. we kept talking, then went to a café and talked some more. he said he had never seen someone eat two ice creams before their meal. i had ordered them 10 minutes before k hyung arrived. i saw that the barbecue place had ice cream, so i was like, "oh? they have ice cream? well, then i gotta try it!" and i ordered two. apparently, that was a first for him. i guess it’s not something people usually do. even after the meal, i had more, and then we went to a café. k hyung was once again like, "since we’re in japan, i’ll pay." he took a regular taxi for himself, but for me, he was like, "oh, gyuvin, you’re a superstar!" and called a van. i was like, "hyung, this isn’t right. you should take this one." but he kept insisting, "just get in, get in, get in!" so yeah, we had fun and then i came back. and as soon as i got back, i turned the live. that was my day. also, i have a lot of friends now. there's younghoon hyung, jungha hyung, and of course, k hyung, hanbin hyung… of course, my members are a given. i guess i’m kind of a “insider” now, huh?

Eunseok has always been a simple and sincere person. Not only is his appearance cute, his personality is cute too, and even the way he thinks feels gentle and endearing. He knows what he wants, likes to share with others, and is realistic. At the same time, he remains very pure—if he likes something, that is all he wants. During a break from filming, he played a game and won 100 lip balms. Knowing he couldn’t use them all, he gave them to the staff. At the SMTOWN after party event, he won a bottle of 18-year Yamazaki whisky. Since he doesn’t really drink alcohol and only hoped to win a simple moisturizer, he gave the whisky to his managers. At the dinner after SMTOWN, there were seafood dishes and a buffet, but Eunseok ordered his own food instead. He really loves abura soba, and just one bowl of it was enough to make him feel satisfied. When attending an event in Shenzhen, luxury suites were available. Everyone was busy choosing rooms. It feels like I might get lost.” When asked if he wasn’t going to stay there, he replied, “No, it’s too big,” picked up his bag, and went to a smaller room. Who will the next Pope be? On Halloween, 2023, I suddenly awoke with a strong premonition that it would be Cardinal Pizzaballa of Jerusalem. Now this was odd because I had never even heard of him before until about a week earlier when he was made a cardinal by Pope Francis. I felt so strongly about this that I was compelled to post it on X as a record of what I had felt (I was even given the thought that I should do it at that moment so that the algorithm could pick it up and the news could get out there). It sounds crazy, but considering that some members of my family were known to have an intuitive, almost psychic natures to them, perhaps these same cosmic forces were then prompting me with their portents. I know that #ZhouKeyu has been portrayed as having a tragic life, but not this tragic. who put onions here? 😭 His childhood experience really sounds so rough. Zhou Keyu was born in the US at a time when his parents were going through a divorce. His father reportedly didn’t even want him. He was put in an incubator right after birth and even his name wasn’t given by his parents. It was a pastor who gave him the english name Daniel. His parents don’t care about him when he got lost at 4 yo. He was burned by fire at the age of 7, caused semi-permanent damage in scalp. His childhood was basically spent in neglect. He only saw his mother 3 times a year. No one really took care of him.
