Plane lands on Texas highway and collides into traffic

On December 11, 2024, a twin-engine Piper PA-31 Navajo aircraft made an emergency landing on a busy highway in Victoria, Texas, approximately 150 miles southwest of Houston. The plane collided with three vehicles, resulting in the aircraft splitting in half and scattering debris across the road.  The pilot, the sole occupant of the plane, sustained injuries and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. Three individuals in the vehicles also sustained injuries, with one requiring more extensive medical attention. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening.  Witnesses reported that the plane was flying low before attempting the emergency landing. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident to determine the cause of the emergency landing.
