I had a feeling that this year would be another year where he’d plan a surprise that would leave me totally stunned. 🐰: I really didn’t expect THAT at all, because part of it is that we’ve already passed the stage where we have lots of free time to sit and think through planning processes and things like that. But this year he suddenly asked me out to dinner, and when it actually happened, I honestly felt like… am I dreaming? 🦆: Dreaming? 👤: Why did you feel that way, like this year’s surprise caught you off guard? 🐰: Because when I got there and I opened the room and saw him, it flashed me back to the first day we met. I felt like this image was so far from the first-version of P’Keng. And now he’s this version of P’Keng who prepared every detail: choosing the place, booking the restaurant, setting everything up in advance. 🐰: So the first thing I asked was, “P’Keng, are you okay? Are you okay?” Because I was thinking he must’ve put in a lot of effort, since this isn’t his nature at all. Scottie Scheffler is a member of the PGA Tour’s Player Advisory Council. He was asked today if there’s any issues he feels strongly about, and after originally saying he “doesn’t know”, he then spoke at depth about the importance of player pathways. Speaking ahead of his defence of the Memorial Tournament, Scottie said: “I don't know. Yeah, no, I don't know. Nothing too strong. “I think one thing that we talked about in terms of the new schedule was a healthy amount of turnover, and one thing that I'm actually pretty passionate about is avenues of getting onto the Tour. I felt like when I came out, that was something that wasn't an issue for me, but it was more difficult than I thought it would be. So when I turned pro -- when I was planning on turning pro after graduating college, PGA Tour U wasn't a thing. “I tried to sign up for PGA Tour Canada Q-School and there was only one qualifier that I could do due to my college schedule, finishing out the year, and that qualifier had already filled up because they give priority to the people that had already had status before, which I understand. But there wasn't an avenue for me to even qualify for PGA Tour Canada, so I spent the summer playing Monday qualifiers on the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour and playing mini Tour events so I could stay sharp and get ready for Q-School. “So when PGA Tour U started being discussed, that was something I was pretty passionate about, getting a new young group of guys out there and giving them avenues to get into our system and opportunities to get onto the PGA Tour. Because the guys coming out of college are getting better and better from a young age, and I think in a lot of other sports, it's very simple how you get into the professional ranks, is you get drafted, and in golf, there's not really that avenue, and I felt like that was something that we needed to have on the Tour is the right avenues for guys to be able to got out here. I feel like where we're at on PGA Tour U, giving those guys the opportunities is something that I think is important to me.” He went on to emphasise his feelings: “I think just giving guys opportunities is really what it is. Golf is a hard sport to predict, and I think that's why for a long time there wasn't that system, just because a guy could be a great college player, but it's really hard to figure out who is going to be the best player out here. “So I think giving guys a lot of opportunity across the board is important, and that's not giving out a ton of cards on the PGA Tour, but getting guys into our system where when you know if you play well at a PGA Tour sanctioned event, whether it's PGA Tour Canada or Latin America -- or I think it's called PGA Tour Americas now. But giving guys those starts and those opportunities to where they can prove themself and earn their spot on the Tour. “There was an avenue for me, which was Q-School and a year on the Korn Ferry Tour, but I think it's important to get guys immediately into the system when they get out of college, especially when they have had good college careers.” PGA TOUR the Memorial

“The last time that we were touring and stuff, I think touring is quite an isolating experience. And on top of that, when we started touring, it was 2021, so it was kind of like still depths of the pandemic. We were like one of the first tours to go back out. So I think that tour started in that way where it was like, I was really bubbled up even kind of within the tour. And then staying on that tour, we put an album out and it ended up being like two and a half years type time. It's just a long time to be in like a bubble where you're not really spending that much time like in the world around you, other than shows and hotels and stuff. And when I finished, I kind of went off and was spending a lot of time in Italy, and was kind of like having this quiet time, and I was just feeling a lot of my life as I was kind of like, craving like quiet and kind of like private spaces. I was just feeling myself kind of like shut out a lot of the world, “I think, and I think the last couple of years for me was about, you know, there's a lot of things that I think I got used to saying no to, like invites from friends and like maybe a weekend trip or like a birthday party or something. I think I just got used to, you know, if I have a week at home, I don't want to go somewhere else for three days. I just want to stay home, you know. And I think when I got to Italy and was kind of out in this quiet place, I felt like, okay, if I'm going to spend all this time out here and I'm going to keep saying no to everything, I'm just going to like shut myself off from the world. I remember talking with the USA Hockey leadership group a few years back when I started as a youth hockey director and I was like “I don’t know if I can do this…” It was stressful as hell and it was hard to enact the kind of things I wanted to do because the youth hockey culture was so backwards on the priorities of development. They told me that I’d be shocked how many good, high level hockey people get into it for a year to give back and then are like - nah I’m good this is not the experience I was looking for. We need to find a way to entice more good hockey people to want to get involved in the youth side of the game. And I think the only way to do it is more community based hockey. Less pressure, more development. More opportunity for the players who get out of the high level of the game to enjoy coming to the rink and not feel like it’s a full time job again. We talked about the importance of more high level hockey people getting involved at the grassroots level on our latest podcast with Nick Robone. Check it out. 🎙️

Yesterday I was that guy. The receptionist said “you can’t go back there” I said “I’m not asking and there’s no one in this building that can stop me” as I walked past them in search of the CEO. I saw the fear in their eyes and rightfully so. I was going to destroy everyone and every thing. I can’t get into it but I was fully prepared to go to jail. The only reason I’m not in jail is that the person I was looking for wasn’t there. I’ve cooled off slightly but the most dangerous thing about a person like me is that I’ve lived long enough and I’m completely fine with this being the end for me.

🦊 we went on a world tour this time and it’s actually such a miraculous thing, it’s something i’m really grateful for 🦊 when i was a trainee, my goal was just (to debut)…because i was really desperate for it to happen 🦊 after leaving my first company and before joining bighit, i was so anxious and stressed thinking about what company to join in order to be able to debut 🦊 even when i joined our company, i was just like “let’s just debut first, i just want to debut” “it’s okay if i don’t make it big, i just want to debut” so the fact that i’ve now become an artist that has done a dome tour…i’m just really grateful 🦊 sometimes, all of this feels like a dream 🦊 i said this during the tokyo dome concert last time too but when we were going around on the trolley on we could see the whole venue, i was like “is this real? am i actually standing here at this venue packed with moas?” it really felt like a dream
