Plaques & Tangles

It took me over a year to get from the idea of Plaques and Tangles to the final interactive pieces you can now experience. It would've been impossible alone, and it was a fantastic learning experience.

From building walls to painting them, I make directing choices for everything, hiring people, planning choreographies with Beatrice and long-distance practices. A single missing link could've broken everything.

I had a month to build the set for the solid six months of pre-prod, and we filmed everything in 3 days. I am grateful I have the resources to make such a big project. I wanted to prove to myself I could use any medium I wanted, and doing this purely digital video proves it.

I tried to keep the format as clean as possible so you can dive into the subject matter and explore the deterioration of ideas during Alzheimer's. The full-length version is being coloured and will go on a festival run.

I will post very little of it online and ask you to do the same (for now); I am providing the interactive pieces' experience as three separate experiences for each stage of the disease. The purely video form is longer and will be made public as soon as I can.

I hope this brings a fresh look into a disease that afflicts way to many, this is my try at understanding the pain and suffering of people suffering from Alzheimers and I hope that this video is a step into more steps to bring more solutions to help families that deal with it

I am speechless. Such a wonderful work and visualisation of the disease. I watched my grandfather slowly fading away from altzheimer and it was painful to see how the person he once used to be disappear into fog of his mind. Thank you so much putting light on this topic.
