The Magic Whip 10th Anniversary. To celebrate, a special vinyl edition of the album featuring brand new artwork and a five-piece capsule collection are being released on 25th April 2025. Includes, a green bomber jacket, red t-shirt, tote bag, ice cream pin badge and a Mr Ok umbrella. Visual artist Tony Hung has reimagined the album’s original artwork to create a special new red and gold album cover. With added foil embossed details, the new artwork edition vinyl is available as a half-speed mastered, single gold disc for the first time. "My reworking for the anniversary edition was inspired by a deep dive into the album’s lyrics. Here, I found more intensity, anxiety and a dystopian edge, all of which I wanted to convey in the new edition. Upturned, the now spoilt ice cream brought a heavier tone, whilst the cone suggested a tower-like structure. The idea of an active broadcast tower, soaring above the clouds felt oppressive and menacing, suitably setting the scene. The final cover art was achieved by juxtaposing the above with the vibrant aesthetic and colours associated with ‘lai see' (lucky money) envelopes; a traditional Chinese gesture, where said envelopes are gifted to loved ones during special occasions such as the lunar new year, birthdays, anniversaries etc. Perfectly befitting The Magic Whip's 10th anniversary, wherein our package contains the gift of music.” - Tony Hung On 12th April, a limited-edition, zoetrope picture disc edition of The Magic Whip will be exclusively available in independent record stores for Record Store Day 2025. Initially, closing Side 1 of the album was Bowie's version of Jacques Brel’s ‘AMSTERDAM’, which would later appear as the B-side of ‘SORROW’ on 12th October, 1973. Side 2 of the 15th December, 1971 tracklisting features two long-time non-LP fan favourites, ‘HOLY HOLY’ and ‘VELVET GOLDMINE’. The former is a re-recording with The Spiders of David’s 1971 single. Again, this version of the track had to wait several years before surfacing as the B-side of ‘DIAMOND DOGS’ on 14th June, 1974. ‘VELVET GOLDMINE’ is considered by many to be a lost Ziggy era classic, one Bowie often referred to as ‘He’s A Goldmine’ or ‘She’s A Goldmine’ in his notebooks and interviews. The track was recorded during the Ziggy sessions but was not released until 26th September, 1975, alongside ‘CHANGES’ backing the re-released album version of ‘SPACE ODDITY’, which peaked at no. 1 in the U.K. singles chart in November 1975. The cover of WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) features a photo of David taken at an early Ziggy Stardust period session by Brian Ward, and the two sides of the inner bags are the fronts of the two Trident Studios tape boxes. The album’s title comes from the lyrics of ‘STARMAN’, which, along with ‘ROCK ’N’ ROLL SUICIDE’ and ‘SUFFRAGETTE CITY’, had not yet been recorded when this variation of the album was compiled. WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) was cut on a customised late Neumann VMS80 lathe with fully recapped electronics from 192kHz restored masters of the original Trident Studios master tapes, with no additional processing on transfer. Wiki announced ‘Ancient History,’ his first solo album in 7 years. The project is set to release June 12. ⁠ ⁠ According to a press release, the album centers on New York City parks as everyday infrastructure—“places to meet friends, write, think, observe people, and briefly step outside the rush of the city without ever really leaving it.” The lead single "Park" is out now and sets the tone.⁠ ⁠ patrick WIKI morales worked with a range of producers including The Alchemist, Navy Blue, Nick Hakim, Dom Maker (Mount Kimbie), and dj blackpower (MIKE). The 14-track project features NYC artists Your Old Droog, duendita, and Salimata. Wiki also tapped two NYC artists to design his cover art: Esteban Jefferson and an alternate cover from Barry Blitt⁠. ⁠ ‘Ancient History’ is Wiki's first solo full-length project since 2019’s ‘Oofie.’ But he’s been quite active in recent years, releasing collaborative projects with Tony Seltzer, MIKE & The Alchemist, Navy Blue, NAH, and Subjxct5.

The US can apply pressure, but Iran is not Venezuela. The choice to arm groups in Iran instead of investing in peaceful protests eliminated all chances for the movement seeking greater change and freedom. Although President Trump is discussing support for the protesters and possible aid, I don't believe there are resources available for that. Although Iran is facing severe problems with electricity and water, in addition to high inflation and debts from the 12-day war, they have accelerated repairs on military installations as well as in the missile cities. The manufacturing and the pace of refurbishment of missiles produced before 2015 and with liquid fuel, such as the Shahab-3, Emad, Ghadr, and the Soumar cruise missiles, are proceeding at full steam. A country like Iran can recondition more than 1,000 of these missiles in 6 months. Anyone who thinks Iran's missile stock is somehow limited is deluding themselves. The missile cities are fully loaded. There may be shortages of water and electricity in the country, but missile production there has proven to be a priority. Furthermore, a new attack on Iran could unite the country and lead to violent retaliations against various American bases, in addition to closing the Strait of Hormuz with more than 20 submarines and thousands of anti-ship missiles with ranges exceeding 1,000 km, causing daily economic losses of billions to the world. And there's another thing to worry about. The US sent Israel more than 90,000 tons of bombs that were dropped on Gaza and Iran. This left American stocks in a position where they have not yet been replenished. The same goes for air defense missiles from both the US and Israel, which have not yet been restocked. The entire situation is being evaluated by the US. Iran used little of what it has in the 12-day war, mainly because it knew it had been caught by surprise and was without strategic air defense systems. It preserved a large part of its military units. Today, it is likely that Iran would treat any attack and the proportional retaliation as matters of survival. Furthermore, Iran is more under Chinese and Russian influence than American, another point that differs greatly from the Venezuela situation. President Trump is already dealing with problems in Venezuela and now this Greenland issue. Given the weapon stock issues, Iran's potential retaliations, and the matters Trump is still resolving, I don't think an attack on Iran is likely, unless it's something small and symbolic.
