One of the toughest parts of being a founder is putting your ideas into the world, seeing if anyone cares (usually they don't - or worse, are rooting against you), and then seeing if you can actually pull it off (usually way more setbacks along the way than you thought!). You have to: (1) develop thick skin and find a way to ignore the haters (2) still take advice from people who have your best interests at heart (3) have the wisdom to know the difference Then move from one setback to the next with no loss of enthusiasm for longer than you thought. Be borderline delusional, get after it every day for a decade, and turn out to be right. Finally, when your tenth or hundredth approach to a problem doesn't work, just keep coming up with more ideas. Had a great day at Base Batches yesterday, meeting founders building on Base and hearing about the latest onchain innovations. Shout out to all the founders!

What a way to start the season! Fired a 65 (-7) today at Fleetwood Golf Club to take the win in the opening event of the 2025 Lancs PGA season. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better start. Felt like I had good control of my game, especially with my approach play and mental game. Gave myself a lot of chances and stayed patient throughout the round. Held it together right to the end and managed to finish strong. To top it off, it looks like it could be a new professional course record — still confirming, but that would make the day even more special. #TrustTheProcess #golf

Both Jabari and Tari talked about the chemistry they have built over the years, and how they went from rebuilding years to playing in playoff games. I asked Alperen Sengun what it means to him to go from winning 17-20 games to playing in the playoffs alongside other young players like Tari and Jabari. “Playing with them is really appreciated it growing up together we have seen the worse I mean I have seen the worse being the worse team in the league and coming out here in 3 years is a big thing for us.”

Set-piece analysis Aberdeen defending corners - THREAD 🔴⚪️🧵 There's been a lot of negativity around Aberdeen's ability to defend corners over the last two seasons. This has dramatically improved over the course of the first few games of this season due to a move away from a hybrid strategy to more a man-to-man strategy. There was a lot of discourse last night regarding the comical looking nature of the defending for Dundee Utd's 2nd goal, however, I'd like to give a lot of credit to Utd's corner routine and the way they went about getting a player free. There's 2 examples in the video below. M2M systems are susceptible to blocks and screens but there's never a perfect system, as I'll show with Aberdeen's strategy last season in this thread.

KIWAMI 3 DEMO IMPRESSIONS: The best way I can describe the combat is it feels like a mod, in both a good & bad way. It takes a lot of cues from the non-Dragon Engine games with how it feels but also makes plenty of crucial mistakes. More in thread but TLDR: Solid, fun, but MAN.

Might of found a way to use this mechanic in comp. I've seen people do this on the floor a couple times but not really on the wall in this way. I do think this could be used in comp because of the sharp change in trajectory of the ball and it could seriously bait out players. Not to mention it can be done on any part of the wall so even off the ceiling. I'm already getting fairly consistent at it on one side and I've practiced it for a day. It feels like doing the breezi flick for the first time but this could be a more practical mechanic. If it can be done on command consistently it has ridiculous potential for passes and other stuff Not saying this is a new mechanic btw nor is it guaranteed to become meta but I love the idea of seeing innovation and new things in the game because there isn't much of it these days so I hope people aren't closed minded about it. Would love to hear opinions on it

Jon Rahm shot a 3 under par 67 to take a share of the lead at the PGA Championship. After the round, he praised the PGA of America for the set up of Aronimink this week: “I would like to know who came up with that, by the way. Honestly, when I heard people talking about 20-under par, it made me question my ability to read a golf course, because I was looking at the greens and where they could put pin locations and possible wind, I just -- my mind was never -- I actually got worried. I'm like if somebody shoots 20-under, the amount of records they're going to break this week would be unheard of. “You know why I think that can happen is also the fairways up here by the numbers are probably wide. They don't play as wide as they really are. Holes like 7, 10, 15, with how much slope you have to the fairway, you have to hit a very accurate golf shot to be in it. Like that, you can add too 2, 4 -- maybe not on 6, but like I said, 10, 12, 15, 16, right? “You need to hit -- with the slope of the fairway and the wind going with the slope of the fairway, it plays a lot more difficult than I think a lot of people would have foreseen at first with how much they're rolling out. And credit to the PGA for the setup. They found some incredible hard pin locations out there. Usually when we're practicing, we put our disks out, and there's definitely quite a few that I would have told Adam, man, there's no way they're going to put a pin there, and they did. So we found a way to keep it all close together. “As hard as it is to play, the challenge can also be kind of fun if you do well. That's probably the reason why the leaderboard is so bunched up and it's going to be such a good Sunday tomorrow. We don't run some of our plays in the red zone out in the field." - "There is an identity, you definitely have to find out where the defense changes. Is it +30 or +25 where they heat you up. Your call sheet has to resemble what the defense does. So there is a little blend of we do what we do, but we have to know what they do & attack it." Coming Out Philosophy - 2 first downs to change the field - TD to change the game - Freeze to create a free 5 or take a shot - "If they don't jump I'll still probably take a shot and see if we can change the field quickly. - Quick game = no throws into the core of the defense.
