One of the strangest details in A Clockwork Orange (1971) is when Alex is arrested by two police officers — his former droogs. Their badge numbers are placing Alex directly between them as 666. It's a subtle Kubrick detail that makes the scene even more unsettling.

The Nadsat slang in A Clockwork Orange (1971) was created by Anthony Burgess as a mix of English, Russian, and youth slang. It makes Alex and his droogs feel both futuristic and strangely timeless.

Buffalo Bill dancing in front of the mirror to “Goodbye Horses” is one of the most unsettling scenes ever put on film. Q Lazzarus’ song gives the moment an eerie, hypnotic calm that somehow makes it even more disturbing.

Dark City: Director’s Cut (1998) is one of those films that hits way harder. Letting the mystery unfold makes that shifting city and stolen identities feel even more unsettling, like a noir nightmare that never resets.

The opening shot of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE (1971) is a close-up of Alex DeLarge breaking the fourth wall. Kubrick holds this shot for a long time, one of the longest 'Kubrick Stare's' ever.
