A computer powered by fire. I can't quite love this enough.

That Stirling engine has a steady, unhurried rhythm - almost like it belongs in a Mediterranean seaside cafe, not just running DOOM.

On one level I ask “why?”, yet I caught myself thinking “I wonder where I can get one?”😂

There are two different engines here: the Stirling engine producing electricity, and the game engine using it. The creator links doom-nano, whose author describes a simplified raycaster with Doom sprites, closer to Wolfenstein 3D than the original Doom. That detail makes the engineering more interesting: the tiny generator is paired with a deliberately tiny workload

Hahaha. Epic.
