Fans have flooded PlayStation’s YouTube and social media posts with demands not to abandon physical media. No matter what Sony uploads, game trailers, PS Plus videos, or hardware announcements they are getting spammed with the same message: “Keep physical games.” The campaign has spread so widely that almost every new PlayStation video is now filled with comments about physical games instead of the actual content.

Sony has announced physical disc production ends in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles. This new policy will cover all games released on PlayStation consoles from all publishers after this cut-off date, which some analysts believe hints at when the PS6 will be released.

This situation with 30 day online check in is definitely a ridiculous thing by PlayStation. I personally always hated digital games. Because deep down I knew something like this would happen and erode ownership. Buy physical games guys. Build your library that way.
