No cooldown but it CHEWS through durability, adds nifty a layer of complexity to pvp. Though as a survival player I hope it is reduced, at max level it consumes 128 durability per lunge, which translates to a max of 16 with NETHERITE.

If they don’t put a cooldown then they really need to make it where you can’t put mending on the lunge spear. It looks like each lunge uses a good hunk of durability even if you don’t hit something

in its current state it wont be, because lunge 3 does so much durability it only takes like 20 or so uses to destroy it (and lunge cannot be applied with mending) it takes LESS with unbreaking ofc, but still quite a lot
