It never rains but it pours. Faye has deteriorated rapidly today. She still has control of her bodily functions, and can get around with a little help. It means 24 hr care from this point on, making sure she can get to her water and hay etc. we will be monitoring her QOL closely and talking with Dr Sophie at length about the options available 😢😢 Again, this all costs money and we need help. We also need to find new donors to keep funds coming in. So please please share ❤️

A vehicle hit this innocent mother dog and now she can barely walk. She is a lactating mom who gave birth just 15 days ago to 3 tiny puppies who still depend completely on her. Slushie hasn’t found her forever home yet, but we still have some really wonderful news to share. Every day, she’s gaining more use of her back legs - standing on her own and even taking a few steps at a time. Little by little, she’s getting stronger, and it’s impossible not to cheer her on. While she is so loved and well cared for here, we truly believe Slushie would thrive even more in a home rather than a kennel. 💔💔💔💔URGENT HELP NEEDED💔💔💔💔 Today we were sent this video of this poor dog begging for food, desperate for attention at a supermarket. Hours later she was still there, begging for attention from anyone near but just ignored 💔 She had a collar and after speaking to a few locals they managed to track down the family of who she belonged to. The owner had sadly died recently and the family didn’t want her anymore so threw her out. Now the poor girl spends her time staying local and trying to find her owner 💔 Our hearts are absolutely broken for this girl, once a beloved pet and now her owners heartless family have thrown her out like trash 💔 Our rescuer couldn’t take her today as she had an onward journey but she is safe in a locals yard and we can get her to pension tomorrow if we raise her funds. URGENT APPEAL This is Njeri Mugure She is 28 years and was born deaf. Her mother locked her away about 10 years ago due to her disability. She sometimes is even chained on the seat and never allowed to go outside. Due to the deplorable conditions, and malnutrition, lack of sun and she often left in her own excrement. Her bones are brittle andis unable to walk unsupported. Her language is now guttural sounds, whereas neighbours say that she used to be vocal. Njeri has not been cleaned in a long time and our ED Njeri and the house mum have been cleaning her but due to the formation of scales on her skin. She also has oral thrush and other issues. Having rescued her , we took her to hospital and reported the matter to Kihara Police, we are doing P3s today for the arrest of the mother due to gross negligence. We need your help for her care for the next three months. Njeri needs a caregiver as she is unable to hold her urine or excrement. We need diapers and gloves. We need a portaloo to potty train her , a small walker to aid movement and drugs as well as supplements that have been prescribed. We will stay with her for three months as we figure her next steps. My husband and I adopted a 10.5 year old dog. Not because we were looking for another dog, but because she sat at the shelter for 3 months without a single person inquiring about her or meeting her and we didn’t want her dying alone. She wasn’t with a rescue but people in the rescue community were networking her because she was the sweetest and was every shelter volunteer’s favorite dog. They would even let her hang out in the office with them. I heard about her and the next day we went to meet her and adopted her. She was covered in ticks when we brought her home, and it took a lot of vet visits, treatments, trial and error, and patience to finally heal her from it. There were moments where it felt overwhelming, but she was worth every bit of effort. We weren’t sure how long she would live but we didn’t care, because it wasn’t about us, it was about her. Thankfully she was with us for three years and passed just two months ago at 13.5 years old, which is ancient. She was an amazing dog and I loved her just as much as all my other dogs. Seniors are the best and they’re just as deserving of a loving home as any other dog. 📹treatsnatcher
