But somewhere along the way, she was neglected, abandoned, left to survive alone in a world that had already been cruel to her. We can’t imagine the hell she has endured: the loneliness, the hunger, the fear. But today, she is safe. Safe in our care, there are only gentle hands and quiet patience. For the first time, she can rest without fear. The sun is now shining on her, from this day and forever.

This little rescue nugget is now living her best life. After 13 months, we do think she has now been with us the longest in her short life. And just perhaps she is figuring out she is safe, loved and not going anywhere. At least we hope that’s what she now knows! ❤️‍🩹🐾🐾❤️‍🩹

This is just one story among countless others in Ukraine’s frontline villages , each one no less painful, no less heartbreaking. The evacuation team Допомога нації (Help to the Nation), shared this video with the message: "Grandmother lives in one of the villages in the Zaporizhzhia region. We visited her often, bringing food and water. She has a lot of livestock, including a cow. Now her village is very close to the front line, and she needs to evacuate. At first, she agreed, but then she changed her mind. However, we are not losing hope and believe that she will eventually leave that dangerous village. Evacuate in time! Evacuation saves lives" She is actually ready to face death in her home , all what she earned her whole life, surrounded by what she cherishes, with her animals. These are the silent tragedies: not only the bombs, but impossible choice like that. May she be safe and protected, whatever the decision she will take. This is my mother-in-law, the last time she visited us in the UK. We threw her a surprise birthday party. After 3 months, she decided to return to Nigeria. She said she does not want to be a prisoner. Everyone is going to work, and she is staying home alone. For the past 34 years that I have been married to her daughter, we have been very good friends. Anyway, I don’t fight or disrespect older adults. I was raised well. #deleolawanle #deleolawanlesnuggets

We will go in a few hours to the doctor to have my daughter Rafif examined, and despite the difficult conditions in Khan Younis, we will go to check on her. Veteran Cecilia Reed is 58 years old and she has been carrying her son on her back because the system failed them. Darrick Jr. has cerebral palsy and scoliosis. She did everything right and still had to fight for months just to get a working wheelchair lift installed at their home. A mother's love and determination would not be denied. That lift is finally in place and this family can now travel in and out of their home with dignity.

Pera is looking for a forever home. 🩷 She is a 1.5 year old, spayed female, weighing 23 kg. She used to live on the streets in Istanbul, where she suffered mistreatment from people and was hit by a car, but thankfully she has no lasting health issues. She stayed in a pet hotel for 9 months, and she is now in Germany. She is in a temporary foster home, waiting for the family who will adopt her. This is a great discussion by Elon Musk at the WEF in Davos on how Optimus will help the elderly. Our population is aging rapidly. Just the other day my grandmother fell and broke her hip. She lives by herself about an hour drive from me, so it's difficult to be there all the time. She was found on the floor laying for 5 hours. The only way we knew something was wrong was because she wasn't answering the phone, we had to drive an hour to see what happened. She refuses a caregiver who lives in the neighborhood to come in and check in on her, she insists that she doesn't need help. Optimus would be a huge lifesaver for her. She can still maintain her independence and have Optimus there to help her when she needs it. Optimus can adjust its help based on her personality and observing what she needs help with so she can still feel independent and active without all the dangers that come with being nearly 90 years old.
