Willow is a poor little Pittie puppy who was heartbreakingly abandoned with a shattered pelvis — she couldn’t stand, was in terrible pain, and extremely scared. Found by a kind woman and brought to Helpaws rescue, everyone feared she might be paralyzed forever. 💖✨ Thanks to dedicated care, endless love, and the miracle of compassion, Willow made an incredible recovery: from lying helplessly to standing, walking, and finally joyfully leaping into the lake with her best friend. Today, she is a happy, energetic, and beloved permanent member of an amazing family.

“Double me!” You know I can’t resist a good language development video, which is why this one from shshshayla on TT jumped right to the top my list for sharing this week. As mom tries to introduce little Willow to the letters in her name, Willow brings a huge wealth of knowledge to the table… which makes mom’s task slightly more challenging! Told the first letter is “W,” Willow understands mom to be saying “double you” - and correctly restates it as “double me!” When that doesn’t meet mom’s approval, she tries a slightly different - but entirely reasonable response: “double baby Willow!” What clever - and fantastic - responses! And what a perfect example of the complexity of toddlers’ task as they acquire language.

Chris Hipkins is now claiming that even wealthy, well-off New Zealanders — those who can comfortably afford GP visits — are ending up in hospital with avoidable illnesses, and that this justifies three free doctor visits a year for everyone. “Many of those people are ending up in hospital with avoidable illness.” In reality, the number of such cases among well-off Kiwis is very small relative to the rest of the population and almost certainly not driven primarily by an inability to see a GP due to cost or access barriers.

We often get asked about orphanages in Gaza. In Islam, the definition of an orphan is a child who lost their mother OR father, or both. Support orphan camps: In Gaza, if a child loses one parent they stay with the other but if they lose both, most of the time an aunt or an uncle from the family adopts them. It is extremely rare that a child is left all alone and with the very exceptional cases where this happens, the child is taken to the UNICEF camp. This gorgeous little one that you see dancing lives in the Amal French Orphanage Camp in Khan Younis. This camp accepts widows (women) and children only, where they get care and support from mutual aid groups. Orphans are a priority of ours, donate to the Ramadan Campaign so that we continue to provide them with care and aid: Other ways to donate include: (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "Ramadan") (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "Ramadan")
