Last night, I received a distress call from concerned residents in the Mowlem area of Embakasi West. They reported that two young children had been sleeping in a makeshift shelter (kibanda) late into the night while their mother spent her time in local pubs consuming alcohol and allegedly abusing other substances, leaving the children neglected. I immediately visited the area and found one of the children fast asleep in the makeshift shelter without even a sweater. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan had stepped in and covered the child with a sweater to protect them from the cold. What was even more heartbreaking was learning that whenever neighbours attempted to help the children, the mother would become hostile towards them. After speaking with a security guard, we were informed that the mother was inside her house. We proceeded there and found her consuming alcohol and chewing miraa. Shockingly, she did not even know where one of her children was at that moment. The neighbours informed us that the mother, who is also a landlady, might be struggling with depression. Although that has not been medically confirmed, she appeared to be in need of professional help and support. I rescued the two children and assured their mother that I would support efforts to help her access rehabilitation services so that she can receive the guidance and treatment she needs. We reported the matter to Mowlem Police Station, where it was referred to the Children's Officer. The children will be placed in a safe environment while the relevant authorities conduct further investigations and take the necessary steps to safeguard their welfare. No child deserves to be neglected or left exposed to danger. I commend the concerned residents who chose to act and report the situation. Together, we can protect vulnerable children while also ensuring that those struggling with addiction or mental health challenges receive the help they need.

The EU is meant to protect free speech - and what more important to discuss than child safety? - but we’ve *never* had a shred of justice following our unlawful arrest. The aftermath was truly turbulent. Some rallied around us, some distanced. I’m 100% in support of adults pursuing whatever gender they please, by whatever means they like. More power to you! However, we will look back at this time, when doctors and “professionals” pressured parents to perform surgery and give hormones to *children*, with great shame and regret. The detransition stories are just starting, and they are devastating. These stories always include the parents and children being bullied into making irreversible decisions. They make decisions they don’t fully understand but are told will solve a complex problem. However, in most cases, this “problem” is solved best with love, compassion, counseling, and time. Adolescence is challenging 100% of the time, as we all have experienced. Imagine your darkest and most confusing moment as a teenager. Now, imagine a group of authorities telling you that your gender confusion causes all your pain and that you can solve all of that pain with surgery and hormones. Now imagine the state of California acting to hide this child’s struggle from their parents — and then pursuing a gender transition covertly with the child. That is the crime that is happening right now. We don’t let kids smoke vapes or drink until they are fully informed of the ramifications of those decisions as adults — yet we put them on puberty blockers and have them do surgery to change their gender as teenagers? What is the rush? There isn’t one, so they tell the parents, “Your child will kill themselves if they don’t transition.” This is pure evil. There are no parents who agree with this, there are only bullied and confused parents… and that needs to end now. I say this with unlimited compassion and love for any child or family dealing with gender dysphoria. Please speak up parents.

Helen Roseveare, a missionary who faced intense suffering and persecution during her 20 years of service in the Congo, shares one of the times that she saw God answer prayer in a most unexpected way: "I went to have prayers with our orphanage children as I did every day, and any of the children wanted gathered around me for prayer time, and I'd give them different things to pray about. And this particular day, I told the children of this tiny baby and asked them to pray for the nurses that they would stay awake all night to keep that baby warm. If the baby got cold, it would die. I mentioned that the baby had a 2-year-old sister who was crying because her mommy had died. I mentioned the burst hot water bottle. During prayer time, different children prayed for different things, and then one little 10-year-old girl, Ruth, she prayed in the usual blunt way of our African children, 'Please, God, send us a hot water bottle. Now, God, it'll be no good tomorrow. Send it this afternoon. Now, if it comes tomorrow, the baby will be dead.' I'm sort of swallowing hard, and she said, 'While you're about it, God, would you send a dolly for the little 2-year-old sister, so she'll know that Jesus really loves her?' And that afternoon, the parcel came. It was the first parcel I ever, I've been out there four years, I'd never had a parcel from home. And despite the fact I live on the equator, somebody packing that parcel had been prompted by God to put in a hot water bottle, and a child from my Bible class at home had put in a dolly for a little girl. And it came that afternoon in answer to a 10 year-old child's prayer, and the amazing thing was, you know, that parcel had been on the way five months to get to us. It had left England in July, and it came that afternoon, cause a child prayed."

Tonight, I rescued this child from the streets, where he has been living with his mother, who is also vulnerable. Their situation worsened after the child’s father was arrested, leaving the boy in the care of his mother. Due to severe financial challenges, they eventually found themselves on the streets. Today, I took the child to a safe and secure home where he will spend the night. He is currently nursing a head injury, and his well-being is our immediate priority. I had met this child yesterday, bought him breakfast, and promised to buy him shoes. But upon meeting him again, it became clear that what he truly needed was far more than shoes he needed protection, care, and urgent support. I appeal to all officers and authorities tasked with removing street families from the CBD: please do not use violence. Follow humane procedures that do not harm vulnerable women and innocent children like this one. Street children are not criminals. They are victims of circumstance. Let us choose compassion, dignity, and solutions that protect life.

I appeal to all officers and authorities tasked with removing street families from the CBD: please do not use violence. My last case of 2025 and my first case of 2026 tell you everything you need to know about our healthcare system. Last week, I was scheduled to do a DIEP flap for a patient who had been waiting a long time. We had asked her insurance company if we could do the surgery in network at @Redbudsurgerycenter, where we have everything needed to safely and efficiently take care of her. They hadn’t approved that, so the surgery had to be scheduled at an older hospital in town. When we arrived, the hospital was having HVAC issues. The humidity levels were not safe for surgery. We waited for hours, and ultimately the case had to be canceled. It wasn’t just her surgery. Multiple surgeries were canceled that day because operating under those conditions would have been a fire risk. We weren’t able to reschedule her surgery before the end of the year, which means her deductible resets. I could have safely done her surgery at Redbud that day but insurance rules wouldn’t allow it. This is what closed networks and rigid systems look like in real life. Now here’s the contrast. The first case I’m doing in 2026 is also a woman who needs breast reconstruction with DIEP flaps. This time, instead of traditional insurance, her employer uses a third party administrator. They came to me directly and asked what I would charge if they paid fairly and transparently. On Monday, we’re doing her bilateral DIEP flap at @Redbudsurgerycenter. I can control the environment, the costs, and the care. It’s better for the patient and significantly less expensive for the employer. This is called Direct Specialty Care. It’s not direct primary care. It’s specialty care delivered without unnecessary barriers. It’s happening. We’re starting the year this way. And I’m going to keep pushing the boundaries and keeping you informed.

At approximately 1:50am past midnight, a 9-year-old child was spotted outside Quickmart Supermarket in Kilimani near Hurlingham, being used by an adult woman to beg for money from members of the public. I approached them with the intention of rescuing the child and taking her to a children’s home for safety. However, the woman-whom the child refers to as her “auntie” quickly lied to her, telling the young girl that I am a bad person. The child, confused and frightened, ran away with her before any help could reach her. Moments earlier, a man had approached us and appeared to have harassed the child earlier , causing her to break down in tears. This is extremely disturbing. No 9-year-old should be exposed to such danger, especially in the middle of the night. This is not ordinary begging. This is child exploitation and endangerment happening openly under our watch. If anyone knows the parents or guardians of this child, please inform them that she is being used to beg for money in Kilimani near Hurlingham, outside Quickmart, late into the night. I urgently call upon the Children protection unit, law enforcement agencies, and all relevant authorities to intervene immediately and secure this child and any other children who may be facing similar abuse. A child belongs in a safe home, in school, and under protection not on the streets at 1:50am begging for survival. This matter requires urgent attention. Let us not look away.
