Old flux sucks! Had an MVS copy of Samurai Shodown 2 that I picked up in 2004-ish and it never worked. Couple of months back I decided to open it up to check for bad solder joints and was met with both boards covered in flux. Cleaned and reflowed every chip and it works!!!
People selling on Ebay could really use this video for reference lol. I will never understand why people can't take a few minutes to clean up their stuff before listing. Nobody wants someone's 10+ yr old Cheeto caked on crumbs.
