This is how low Zimbabwe has sunk … Zanu PF Harare Province youth chairman Emmanuel Mahachi’s Toyota Fortuner is captured on camera in Masvingo without a number plate, third number plate and insurance. In place of the number plate is a sticker which says sanctions must go. The vehicle was being driven by a woman identified as Mahachi’s wife. In place of the third number plate and insurance is a sticker inscribed ZANU PF OFFICIAL 2024, WORKING TOWARDS VISION 2030. The law does not allow any vehicle on the road without any of these three. Asked for a comment, Mahachi initially said that his party is on anti-sanctions campaign and some vehicles were stripped of their number plates and replaced with anti-sanctions logos. He conceded that he is not paying Zimra road licence and insurance. He got angry when he realised that he was talking to Masvingo Mirror reporter and argued that the car was not his. ZRP and ZINARA have no power over Zanu PF activists and both State organs look aside as crimes are being committed. As a result, the streets are now awash with vehicles that have no number plates. Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba recently told Masvingo Mirror that this lawlessness is unacceptable as many robberies are committed using cars without number plates. 🇿🇼 ZANU PF PATRIOTS 🇿🇼 ZANU PF Youth League President of Zimbabwe Hopewell Chin’ono nelson chamisa HON Job Wiwa Sikhala Ministry of Information, Publicity & Broadcasting ZINARA Zimbabwe Republic Police Parliament of Zimbabwe Ministry of Justice, Legal & Parliamentary Affairs Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission Traffic Safety Council Of Zimbabwe Ministry of Transport - Zimbabwe Jamwanda

CASH-IN-TRANSIT HEIST RUSTENBURG Police have launched an investigation following a CITRobbery that occurred at approximately 16:40 on Monday, 16 February 2026, in Old Geelhout Park, Rustenburg. It is alleged that security personnel were travelling in a cash-in-transit vehicle along Kremetart Street when a Toyota Fortuner travelling in the opposite direction collided with the driver’s side door of the cash vehicle. The vehicle was forced to stop and was subsequently blocked by a Toyota Hilux (Legend) double cab bakkie. Approximately 15 armed suspects allegedly overpowered the security officers and instructed them to unlock the doors. The guards were removed from the vehicle, dragged a short distance away from the cash vehicle and made to lie face down on the ground. One armed guard was disarmed while the suspects gained access to the vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects allegedly set alight both the cash-in-transit vehicle and the Toyota Fortuner used in the collision. Several shots were fired during the incident. The suspects fled the scene, and no injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage. The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the North West, Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo, urged members of the public to report serious crimes immediately and cautioned that suspects involved in such crimes are dangerous and should not be confronted. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is requested to contact their nearest police station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or submit information anonymously via the MySAPS App on their smartphone.
