According to narrations, the Angel of Death (Malak al-Mawt) sought permission from Allah to approach the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to take his soul. Unlike other human beings whose souls are taken without prior consultation, the Prophet was given a choice—a unique honor bestowed upon him. The Angel of Death said to him: "Your Lord has sent me to you, and He has instructed me not to take your soul except with your permission." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) then made his decision. It is reported in a hadith: "The Prophet was given the choice between this worldly life and what is with Allah, and he chose what is with Allah." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 4435]

Dear beloved Muslims, When people follow those who have never truly studied their religion with scholars or their students, the result is individuals who misguide rather than guide the masses. To the average observer, such actions may seem good — they see people praying publicly and assume this is a form of da‘wah. But we must look deeper. Firstly, it is obligatory for Muslim men to establish their prayers in the masjid. Choosing instead to pray in the streets — while neglecting the houses of Allah — is a serious matter. Secondly, how can khushū‘ (true humility and focus) be attained in the middle of loud, chaotic environments like Times Square? In such settings there is noise, distraction, and even open hostility. In some cases, people mock, shout, and disturb the prayer itself. So we must sincerely ask: Are these actions done for Allah… or for views, attention, and social media validation? True leadership calls people to Allah with humility — not performance. We advise our brothers and sisters: do not be deceived by social media personalities. Calling to Allah (da‘wah) is not built on spectacle, but upon knowledge, sincerity, and adherence to the Prophetic method. Those who truly invite to Allah must do so upon the way of the Prophet ﷺ — not upon what gains attention online. May Allah guide us all to sincerity and correctness. Ameen.

Companion Uthman ibn Abi al-As said: I said: “O Messenger of Allah, the devil interferes between me and my prayer and my recitation, confusing me.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “That is a devil called Khinzab.
