You are correct. It shouldn't be about me at all. This is about providing a crucial service to the public. This concept of throwing out blown addresses and other mistakes that cause delays from your data and omitting it from your transparency requirements over not having a phone number is bizarre. There is no significant additional difficulty for OUC to find the event with an address, units assigned, day and date, than with a phone number. That's just some obstacle @CMBrookePinto made up. She also forgets it isn't just me reporting those incidents. The fire department is reporting them too and most aren't getting posted. I guess she is okay with that also.

The medics called a 10-33 for 4th and Massachusetts NW. This means they are in danger and need police right away. This was followed by the medics calling again for police, along with calls by a battalion chief and an EMS supervisor. It also appears the fire department operations center assisted in trying to get a police response. It was an EMS supervisor who reported the public was also being attacked more than 10 minutes after the 10-33 call. We can't just say this one was necessarily a DC911/Office of Unified Communications problem. In fact, radio traffic showed dispatchers handled the initial call from Medic 2 expertly and followed long-standing procedures that OUC once struggled with. What we don't know is what went on behind the scenes at both OUC and the DC Police Department that brought such a slow response. The only clue is a dispatcher saying at one point there were no police units available. Eventually, both MPD and U.S. Capitol Police arrived to handle the situation and the banged-up medic was taken to the hospital. To illustrate how serious a call like this can be, just 11 days ago, Firefighter/Paramedic Graham Hoffman (pictured below) was stabbed in his heart by a woman inside an ambulance in Kansas City, MO. So the discourse around this Dave Ramsey clip is so mixed up that I’ve just decided to upload the whole thing. In the full context of the call, the caller makes it perfectly obvious that: 1. She has been with this man, whom she is now living with, for six years. 2. She is a nurse and can make her own money. 3. She has been out of school for two years, and in that time she has paid off $70,000 of the debt. In the course of the call, Dave never suggests that this man should have to pay for that debt. Indeed, he actively suggests that she leave him, which guarantees he will not pay for the debt. Dave also all but says that, because of her career choice, the caller will be able to pay for the debt on her own, even if she has to take extra hours. All Dave is saying—and this should have been obvious from the original clip—is that the two are not aligned on money and debt at all. It is also clear that Dave thinks the man is stringing her along, which he is. So they simply should not be married at all, because this is a fundamental failure in the relationship. I myself would add that, at this late stage in the relationship, if you do not trust a woman financially, you should simply not be with that woman. And that is perfectly fine. But what you do not do is drag her along for six years when she obviously wants to get married, and then put another two or three years of financial hoops in front of her so that maybe you will propose. It is a waste of everybody’s time.

For a long time most Jewish organizations and Jewish leaders in the world treated these false claims against Israel and the Jewish people as absurd, and on their face, ridiculous. And so we ignored the claims, and we let them sort of lie and fester for a long time. And one of the big criticisms that I've heard about my book, Israel on Trial, especially from Jewish organizations, is, "Well, we shouldn't give these these allegations the time of day. We should ignore them. We shouldn't put Israel on trial, we should put Hamas on trial." All of that, I think, is fair. Hamas should be on trial. But the opposite is not necessarily true either. And I think the strategy we have taken over the last 20 or 30 years—of ignoring these claims—has proven to be a fatal mistake. And the reason for that is whether in the law or in sports or in politics, when you ignore the other side's argument, you lose. That's just how it is. No matter how flagrantly absurd the argument is. In the law, if the other side files a motion, it's an adversarial system, if you don't respond to it, the judge isn't going to delve deeply into the correctness of the motion. They've got 300 other motions to deal with. If there's an unobjected to motion, that motion is granted by what we call default. The same thing happens in sports. If one football team arrives on the field and the other team doesn't show up, they win by forfeit. And so in either case, not rebutting the arguments that you believe are frivolous has allowed these arguments really to spread like wildfire across our population, both in our young people and even now bleeding into people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. It's a very dangerous game we've been playing, and we were wrong to play it. The point of my book is to be patient with these arguments, show people that we can engage these arguments, and that on the merits they are totally false and frivolous as a matter of fact and law.

American Doctor doesn’t know what else to do A health insurance company cancelled her patients heart failure medication and keeps denying her prior authorizations “I f*cking can't today, I wasted an hour and 17 minutes of my time on the phone with an insurance company who decided that my patient no longer needs their heart failure medicine that they've been on for years. That is an old medicine, not remotely experimental. It's what everybody uses for heart failure patients in this situation. It's a medicine that saves the insurance company money in that if they pay for 36 patients to use it for three and a half years each, they'll prevent one heart failure exacerbation according to the number needed to treat for all of you methodology geeks out there. And you know, the total cost of all that medicine for 36 patients for 3 1/2 years is less than the cost of like, the first hour of a heart failure exacerbation hospitalization. So this makes no sense. — To go through that bullshit website and put in the information just to be told there's a duplicate prior authorization? I'm like, well, I'm the physician that wrote the prescription, so how about we delete that duplicate because it doesn't matter. And they're like, well, we can't do that. None of it makes any sense. So they would say they're following through with this agreement that they had put in place a few years ago, and the farmers should have known. I've talked to the governor, and the governor's position is he can't do anything about this because it's mentioned in the constitution and the supreme court has weighed in, but honestly, when I talk to the attorneys they're saying that's that's not a truthful version of what the facts are. The governor's office has a whole lot of prerogative, the Department of Water Resources has the prerogative on how to interpret these laws. By the way, the law does give priority to the folks that have senior water rights, so that's parcelled true. But the governor, I'm gonna plead that the governor exercised leadership here and that the legislature exercise some leadership and put, build some framework. What we need to have them do is build some framework around these agreements and around the laws so that, um, we don't lose all of our agriculture in this area and that appears to be the plan.”
