he’s exactly right. During Trump’s first term, there were guardrails—people in place to keep the train from derailing. But Trump openly admitted he regretted not “cleaning house” so he could govern with fewer restraints. Disturbingly, around 75 million Americans voted for him knowing full well he aspired to act more like an authoritarian strongman.
