just said the quiet part out loud and every Canadian family should clip this. Our trade team has walked into every US negotiation since Mulroney with one hand tied behind its back, measuring “success” only by how happy the dairy cartel, softwood lobby and auto parts producers feel. Consumers? The people actually paying the inflated prices at the grocery store and hardware aisle? Completely erased from the equation. That’s not strategy. That’s capture. And it’s exactly why Trump keeps dictating terms while we scramble. Time to untie the hand and put the other 40 million Canadians in the room. @cbcwatcher @CanadianPM @USTradeRep

I think it is obvious we have leverage based on the number of Americans who are ramping up their attacks on Canada and demanding we make a deal. They aren't going away and shrugging their shoulders. They desperately want a win for the Republicans before the midterms.
