Not a good move for Poilievre to go against Trump, it will cost him votes.

IMHO He did not go "Nuclear" on Trump. That would be a very follish thing to do. I am relieved he did not.

Here's the problem...the US laid out these same issues and asked Canada to fix them on our side of the border. Our politicians told Trump to kick rocks...this is the result of that. I am curious what his actual solution is once Parliament is recalled. What's his plan to fix the mess that WE caused? Another non-confidence vote? Push through legislation to allocate funds to securing our border? Hit back on the US even harder via other means? Partner with China or the EU? Only one of these options fixes our relationship with the US. The others will further strain it. The ask was simple, justified, and to the benefit of both nations. Instead, our politicians wanted a pissing match...except for Danielle Smith who heard the US's concerns and did something to address it. I believe she's allocated more resources to the AB/US border. Its why we only got 10% on energy. Now they're all about to double; to 50% and 20% thanks to our retaliation. As for the 25% for Canada vs. 10% for China...we are the more serious security threat. Pierre even said, we share the world's largest UNDEFENDED border. They are trying to ensure their security from a country who's allowed terrorist cells to form, drug labs and cartels to thrive, and need us to do something as their ally...and as their ally, we said no. They asked, we said no, now we got tariffs. Well done!!

We need an election now. This country is becoming 3rd world.

Poilievre went NUCLEAR on Trump? He did nothing of the sort. He did point out some facts of our cheaper oil & gas which the USA is aware of. A 10% tariff on CDN O&G will be paid by USA, and the global price is 10% higher if they replace CDN O&G. Many of their refineries need WCS.
