As a mixed black girl (Mexican), mostly black presenting, I’ve been asking this my whole life. If I wore certain clothes, I’d be made fun of by ALL races or told that I hate my race. Nah, I just really liked those American Eagle jeans. How am I *supposed* to dress? Ok I flat ironed my hair….i didn’t have $300 to get it braided at that moment. Tf?

Ohh Emily, dear Emily it’s not white washed for what they wear or how they wear the hair. There are just certain behaviors and voice inflections that allow black folk to tell if someone is white washed. Just means u grew up and were raised around majority white ppl.

Honesty yes, people call anything “being white washed” to the point that it lost its original meaning. How tf am I white washed because I like anime or dress alternative?? Makes no damn sense
