On the first Saturday of August 2026, which also happens to be the first day of the month, I’m putting together an event for 40 marketers across various disciplines. This one is for my Lagos people. When people hear events they roll their eyes because it’s always business as usual, a popular person is a key note speaker or there’s a panel and they discuss what they feel the audience wants to hear. Event attendees always leave unsatisfied. We are flipping this entire model on its head. For 2 to 3 hours, you’ll be in a room with multiple marketers where we will tackle those questions that you’ve had. For example if your boss is not approving your budgets or your channels are not printing the revenue you want, these are the kinds of answers you will find here. Is digital products the way for marketers to make more money or what’s the latest for marketing people? Conversations like these will be had here. I strongly recommend that everyone interested in the current state of Australia and its place in the world watch the full #Insiders interview. Hastie is just about spot on across the board. It is clear he understands the problems, and cares about us enough to want to solve them. Really solve them. I have grabbed a particularly interesting clip, where the ABC public servant David Speers tries to sell Chinese made batteries as some kind of ‘gotcha’, but Hastie just nails him. Batteries made in China will never fix our energy problems. Drilling, mining and using our resources here will. Rebuilding our infrastructure here will. And fixing the diabolical 1970's style industrial relations system will. We just have to get off our arses and get out of our own way before it's too late. Go Hastie. Get 'em. I just want Australia back.

Today I spoke with leaders of countries currently under attack from Iran – the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Amir of Qatar. We will continue this diplomatic engagement with the broader Middle East and Gulf region. Ukraine stands in solidarity with all those who are resisting the spread of war and violence. For decades, the Iranian regime has invested in destroying the lives of its neighbors and others wherever it could reach. It was on that very foundation that they became accomplices of Russia in the war against Ukraine. Every “shahed” drone in Ukrainian skies proves that the Iranian regime must be held accountable for its attempts to destroy lives and kill people. It is essential that those who defend life prevail in this confrontation. At the level of our teams – the Ukrainian team, the teams of the Emirates and Qatar, and other states – we will determine how, together, we can provide stronger protection for life. Ukraine’s expertise in countering “shahed” drones is currently the most advanced in the world, and these drones represent the primary challenge in that region as well. It is clear why so many requests are directed to Ukraine. However, any such cooperation aimed at protecting our partners can only proceed without diminishing our own defense capabilities here in Ukraine. Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, Russian strikes continue, and protecting Ukrainian lives remains our first priority.

You can see in the same passage of play (on the video) he is dropping into the 6 position, so calling players movement "shy away" probably the most anti analytic argument possible. 2. In the play he is mentioning, Zubi recognizes Ode and Rice are on the double pivot already so correctly moves himself up on the pitch. 3. If you see what happens in the passage of play, is exactly what he says in another tweet that is a brilliant tactical setup where we play long and use Rice+Zubi to fight for second balls. Exactly what happenes in the play he mentions that ends up in Madueke attacking the half space. Its amazing how easy it is to twist and turn things to look different around here! That is why you should always be careful with clips, and should check the game 1 minute before and after the event. Also be careful with people that provide analysis based on just one event, too many analyst around here will provide long commentary on 1 bad shot, or 1 bad touch as their impression for a whole match or season. This is not regarding EBL, not what he does, but im seeing it to often around here.

Why did so many languages copy async/await from C#? Anders Hejlsberg(Anders Hejlsberg) - creator of TypeScript, C# & Turbo Pascal - on what they got right with the design: #1 - async/await was designed to solve a common problem in the event-loop model: "A lot of languages are built around cooperative multitasking in the sense that they have an event loop that sits and dispatches events. Then you handle the event and then you yield back to the event handler loop. And it all runs in a single thread cooperatively. The problem with that is if you then want to do some long running work: how do I stop in the middle of this piece of long running work and yield back to the event loop cooperatively? And then when my result is ready, I can come back and continue executing here." #2 - state machines are the solution, but hard to build: "Well, in order to do that in an inverted architecture like that, you have to build a state machine. State machines are notoriously hard for people to implement because you've got to move all of your state off of the stack into objects. And then you have this big case statement that envelopes your entire logic. It's a nightmare to figure out. But, the transformation from serially executing code into a state machine, its continuation-passing-style translation is actually one that you can do in a machine-based fashion." #3 - compilers are good at writing state machines: "You can have the compiler write the state machine if you introduce syntax that allows you to indicate where you want to yield. And that's what await is. Await is basically saying, I want to yield here, and I want to yield this promise, and then when the promise completes, I want you to come back here and continue executing.
