Context/Details: August 2016, Arkansas. In a shocking incident, a police patrol car in Arkansas crashed and overturned, ejecting a 19-year-old suspect, Logan Younger, through the back window. The crash occurred while Jonesboro Police Officer Justin Thompson was transporting Younger to jail after responding to a report of an intoxicated person at a local mall. Video footage from inside the vehicle showed Younger, who had partially freed himself from his handcuffs, being hurled out of the car during the crash. Before the crash, Younger was seen banging on the bulletproof glass divider and kicking the back of Thompson's seat. He managed to free his left hand from the handcuffs and was digging an object out of his pocket just before being ejected. Following the crash, Younger fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Officer Thompson had to be freed from the patrol car by fire crews and was taken to a hospital, though the extent of his injuries was unknown. Younger was treated at a hospital and then jailed on charges including escape, public intoxication, fleeing on foot, and minor in possession. The cause of the crash was under investigation. (August 22, 2016) Craighead County, Arkansas - Amazing moment a prisoner thrown out of rear window of police car when it crashes – before promptly running off Suspect Logan Younger, 19, managed to flee the scene following the smash – but was caught shortly after. The police officer’s patrol car crashed and flipped sending Younger out of the back window in Arkansas, US. In the video the teen appears to loosen his handcuffs moments before the crash. According to cops after flying out the back window of the overturned car Younger fled the scene but was caught moments later. Collin Cooper was inside a nearby shops when he heard the crash. He said he went outside and saw officers walk Younger out of the vehicle. Mr Cooper said: “I didn't know really what was going on. "They just kept pouring cop cars and there were like 3 ambulances here. I wasn't sure until I saw them bring the guy back." Cooper said he also saw police chase after Younger when he tried to escape. An officer was injured in the collision and fire crews had to cut the car in order to free him. After being released the officer, Justin Thompson, was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he is now conscious and speaking with staff.
