What an absolute disaster this gun grab is by our Government. They claim they are getting these gun off our streets? They aren’t on the streets. They are being held by law abiding gun owners. Instead of spending millions on an ineffective program, we would encourage the federal government to reach out to Mayor Olivia Chow 🇨🇦 and Chief Myron Demkiw and ask how they could use those funds to keep Toronto safe. For even a fraction of what is allocated to the buyback program, we could hire hundreds of police officers and mental health nurses, as well as fund community and youth programs across the city. #cdnpoli

In the email, they misrepresent the truth... that the program is to keep Canadians safe due to rising crime. The reality is, the vast majority of firearms used in crime are from the US. In addition, other than Quebec, no province is interested in participating in the program nor do they have the resources to enforce it. And they also do not believe in the program, with one Premier who is a law-abiding firearm owner, even going so far as calling the program a "headache".
