In view of the withdrawal of the police complaint by the parents of the students against the management of Success School, allegedly under pressure, VakeelSaab⚖️ lodging an independent police complaint against the management of Success School. No amount of pressure or intimidation should prevent a fair and impartial investigation. If allegations involving religious coercion of minor students have been made, they deserve to be examined strictly in accordance with law. The police should register the complaint, conduct a fair investigation, and take appropriate legal action based on the evidence, without fear or favour.

Can the police stop you on the road and tell you that you need their permission to enter or leave a city? As a citizen of India, you have a fundamental right to move freely throughout the country under Article 19(1) (d) of the Constitution. A police officer cannot ordinarily restrict your movement merely on verbal instructions. Such a restriction must be backed by a valid law, government notification, executive order, or court direction. If an officer unlawfully stops you and prevents you from entering or leaving a city without legal authority, you can: 1. Ask for the legal provision or written order. 2. Record and preserve evidence. 3. File a complaint before senior police authorities. 4. Seek a departmental inquiry. 5. Approach the High Court for violation of fundamental - Legal Consequences for the Officer If the action is found to be arbitrary, unlawful, or an abuse of official authority, the officer may face: 1. Police management in Gauteng has responded to viral social media footage allegedly showing a police officer in full uniform soliciting a bribe from a member of the public. Authorities confirmed the officer has been identified and a criminal case of corruption has been opened for immediate investigation by the Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit. An internal departmental disciplinary process has also been instituted. Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni strongly condemned the alleged conduct, saying police members are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. He warned that any officer found guilty of corruption or abusing public trust will face serious consequences. SAPS reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on corruption, stressing that accepting or soliciting bribes is a criminal offence and a direct violation of the SAPS Code of Conduct. On 31st March 2026, operatives of the Tiger Tactical Squad, Umuagba, Port Harcourt, forcefully broke into an apartment, arrested occupants, and falsely accused them of involvement in child ritual activities. The victims were unlawfully detained and pressured to secure their release by paying money into a POS account allegedly provided by the officers. In desperation, the family of the victims borrowed and paid N500,000 just to regain the freedom of their loved ones. Upon receiving the complaint, I immediately escalated the matter through the IGP Complaint Response Unit (CRU), with the support of Prince Adedigba Adeyinka Daniel Following swift intervention, the full amount of N500,000 was successfully refunded to the victims on 5th April 2026. This action clearly reflects the firm stance of the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, and the commitment of senior officers who have consistently maintained zero tolerance for extortion, abuse of power, and violations of citizens’ rights within the Nigeria Police Force.
