UPDATE: MP Desmond McKenzie arrived at the scene in Tivoli Gardens. It is alleged that while police were arresting a woman, pepper spray was used and accidentally got into the MP's eyes as he stood nearby. More updates to come.

A Polish mother was arrested after refusing to leave her 13 year old son unattended with a police officer in Liverpool. Her son had been accused by a Nigerian family living in social housing of stealing garden keys, an allegation he denies. The officer later threatened to pepper spray the mother, who was then arrested. The boy was taken into a police van barefoot, with the officer refusing to let him retrieve his shoes and socks. The boy also claims that the officer later broke his wrist. More evidence to follow.

🇬🇧 OLD MAN TASERED, PEOPER SPRAYED AND BEATEN: A 92-year-old care home resident in a wheelchair was sprayed in the face with synthetic pepper spray before being Tasered and hit with a baton by police officers. Police constable Stephen Smith emptied almost a full can of pepper spray into Donald Burgess's face when he refused to drop an item of cutlery similar to a butter knife, Southwark Crown Court heard. Mr Burgess, who had one leg, was then Tasered by Police constable Rachel Comotto, police body-worn camera footage shown to jurors appeared to show. PC Smith, 51, denies two counts of assault by using Pava spray and a baton, and PC Comotto denies one charge of assault by discharging her Taser. "It ought to have been obvious by the fact he had one leg that this was a man who wasn't going to be mobile. This was an elderly, vulnerable man who may not have understood what was going on. Rather than being met with understanding and sympathy, he was confronted by irritation and annoyance on the part of the defendants."

It looks to me like that guy was just protecting the lady with a backpack, when he was pepper sprayed at first. That is when he got tackled by the agents, and dragged back onto the street. Here it is zoomed in, and @ 50% speed. Much easier to see it this way. He clearly did not undertake any offensive action towards the agents at all. The most he did was to raise his left hand, protecting himself from the pepper spray. The lady with a back pack also seems to be getting back onto the street. but only because the guy was holding her by the hood of her jacket. So, when got pulled back onto the street, she also got pulled out with him.
