And just noticed that this guy needs to get his units of measurement right, so perhaps everyone needs a math lesson.

“Politicians need to learn how to do math.” People laughed. This is real. The entire EV transition is like building a hospital, but you don’t have any nurses.

Well.. he's talking MW and GW but I think he means megawatt-hours and GWh. Power is instantaneous so you cant say 2.5MW per day. Also his battery mass is wrong. And if the dam is 1.1GW and total logging truck demand is 12.5GWh then the dam could charge them up in under 12 hours.

@OldWhiteWalker You need to stop pretending it's about the numbers

Politicians are paid for banning things that emotionally trigger the general public. That includes crises they manufacture themselves.

The math is to have many, many people using less energy. Or net zero means zero energy for us peasants.

This guy's math is off by a power of magnitude. Ask a transportation/auto engineer, they know a bit more about the subject.

That guy needs to learn the difference between a watt and joule. Trucks don’t use giga watts. They’re engines might be 600 hp, which is 420 kW. Over a day they may use a giga joule. His message might be correct, but the units are wrong.

I get his point, but a MWh (stored) is not the same as a MW (power) so this interview is a little confusing. But still, I get his point.
