Pop Muzik (1979) M

Proof that the first 80's song came out in 1979.

Still sounds fantastic 47 years later. I always remember his heavily pregnant girlfriend sang backing vocals on TOTP dressed in s sari. ❤️

Robin Scott was a genius. I think this was the very first reference to rap music I ever heard ...

One of the first post disco tracks that year. Loved it!

Even rockers I knew liked this song.

Yeah that was fine. This was better:

Futuristic Fun for 1979 , rollerskating ditty..

When videos first came out Nobody knew what to do so they all did their own thing Fresh, unique, fun, different... now everyone is the same

Best sarcastic “get down” ever

Weird I just heard this in the grocery store an hour ago.

👍 I want my MTV

This was my joint!

@pvcBoston they were #happytimes

Just transported me back to middle school. This played on our cctv morning announcements almost daily.

sounds like The Murder Mystery from the Velvet Underground

Old School = Best School

When MTV first debuted, they played this song constantly.

This is unusually good for a late 1970s, pre-mTV, low budget music video.

@rovadrie Oehhh ja en meteen helemaal mee kunnen zingen. Hoezo ben ik van die tijd 😅

Great song! I always considered this song was the beginning of New Wave music. Certainly wasn't the shitty Buggles song!

🎶New York London Paris Munic Everybody talk about Uhmm Pop Music 🎶

👍🏼

Roller skate rink this and Devo Whip it.

Or as it was known in NYC, 'Wop Music.' 😹

As catchy as they come

Covered brilliantly by Fuzzbox, 31 years on... @xacct01

Sounds a bit like Ghostbusters, great tune.

Pre-Level 42 fame, but synthpop song about pop song and mention Western major cities "New York (city), London, Paris, Muenchen..."

Great roller skating song when I was 11 🤣

🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶

The perfect 7” single

U2 Popmart Tour opening music

I remember this ditty of a song on the radio. It was silly and fun.

Love it. The 80s were just the best for all genres of music.
