Anyone in the US illegally is going back. Two choices: self-deportation, free ticket plus $1000 and you can come back legally later Or ICE has to find you, arrest you, process you, and deport you and you can NEVER return. This is humane and just.

Why is the Church an enabler of human trafficking?

With all due respect to the Holy Father, some of his suggestions for helping the poor will do more harm than good. He must advocate more for helping the poor in their own country and LEGAL immigration for those with a well-founded fear of persecution in their home country. Overseeing direct aid to those in need in order to circumvent corruption will be a better solution than having people migrate. It’s neither racism nor disinterest rather, it is simple. Countries must be willing to accept the results of their own decisions and not rely on external assistance to solve problems they created themselves. If conditions in their home countries are considered unjust then they should change those conditions there. America had to fight a revolution to change what its people considered unjust conditions and others should do the same.

Dignity comes from following U S laws .You don't pay Drug Cartels to bring you through Mexico to US border. Dangerous and it's a sin supporting Drugs,rapist, human trafficking and murderers.

As a catholic, the pope is a hypocrite on this issue. If the church has abandoned the concept of a nation state and seeks to undermine it, this is not a mission Christ has set them on.

I agree. We need to deport them more humanely. In fact, I support providing financial aid to those who voluntarily deport. Assuming the Net annual fiscal burden on taxpayers is $150 Billion and there are 20 Million immigrants, they may have $7,500 to get a head start.

The “good and hardworking” ILLEGAL immigrants already had a chance to come here with respect! They chose to subvert our laws. Right now they can self deport and receive travel back to their home countries w/o penalty. Then they can come back legally.
