Donald Trump on why he didn't want to be President in 1980: In a fascinating interview with Rona Barrett, a 34-year-old Donald Trump is asked if he would ever want to be President of the United States. His answer might surprise you: "I really don't believe I would, Rona. But I would like to see somebody as the president who could do the job." Trump explains why the most capable people stay away from politics: "Most men are frightened of politics today… The most capable people are not necessarily running for political office and that is a very sad commentary on the country. They head major corporations and they had this and that, but they are not running for political office." One of the arguments in the Afghan assault trial was that the man did not know he was doing wrong as “consent” is not a concept in Afghanistan. IF that is true then it’s a concrete argument to never allow ANY men in from that country as they would have no idea if they were doing wrong and so ALL pose a danger. It’s just logical.

He's doing it for the same reason he had that stupid birthday parade. He's doing it because he really likes the idea of being a dictator. He likes the idea of destroying our legal system. He likes the idea of eliminating the courts and taking away individual rights. I mean, look what he's doing, talking about people who are unhoused as if they're criminals. They're not criminals. They need a place to sleep. They need food. You know, last time I checked the bible, it said, take everything you have and give it to the poor. It didn't say steal everything you can from the poor and lock them up. And that's what he's doing here. This is a profoundly un-american attempt to exercise power in ways that are illegal, to scare big cities and to go after democratic cities that are diverse, to serve as racist, fascist agenda.

Just the way the geography is in the senate, you're always good to have more advantages for Republicans that way.
