Funniest part is the rotation in the first few seconds of the first clip is more fluid than 90% of what we see. Problem is the ball goes into Munetsi so it dies there, and Saïd should stay high rather than sink. Even when we get it right, we get it wrong in another way.

Why would a team need to press us when we put ourselves under pressure with some woeful passes across the back line at times. Watch us make the inevitable unforced error and then press

They’ll still feel the very visceral reaction to Marshall Munetsi I’m sure

Manager is tactically inept. We rarely ever have any way of building an attack from passing out the back and it’s down to the managers tactics of persisting with a 4-1-5 formation in the build up phase. So frustrating to watch but Cesar shown no signs of acknowledging it

I’m no tactician but even I can see this isn’t right. What do you think the idea is supposed to be? Also what’s changed from the first 4 games in your eyes?

Profilbild von Musings from Molineux
Musings from Molineuxvor 2 Tagen

I think he wants bodies higher up the pitch so that when it breaks down we can land on it ans build from there. What he’s failing to realise is teams don’t mind us playing longer balls

Players ahead of the defence not giving viable passing options? Difficult to see with them out of shot but it's still a difficult watch.

Profilbild von Musings from Molineux
Musings from Molineuxvor 2 Tagen

The fact they’re out of shot explains some of it, but this goes beyond players not showing for the ball. The patterns aren’t there and this isn’t against a team intent on pressing us off the pitch

They didn't need to press as our own passes were putting us into marginally worse positions with every slow laborious pass. Presume this is on Cesar judging by your statement?

@_jwynny Slow. Laborious. One dimensional. Awful. When Watford win it back/are given it back, even they are sharper with their passing. And they were turgid to watch.

@LiamKeen__ this is the type of thing I’m talking about. You have the chance and opportunity to present this to Cesar, instead you chose to sit on the fence, scribbling down every word he says as if it’s the gospel truth.

It is the same EVERY WEEK. Andre picks the ball up from CB where the orange X's are. No one is in that orange circle to pass to. Ever. Lopez is always where purple X is and Munetsi red X. Its infuriating. One pass in there and it opens game for the other players.

Glad you posted this. I left the game thinking how bad we had played. Watched the highlights and thought I must have been tripping cos we looked decent. This is the shit that went on majority of the game. Dire and clueless.

Profilbild von harrison

@TheSoff_ Thing is people blame the player on the ball. They can’t make forward passes if the midfielders and attackers aren’t making options which 90% of the time they’re trying to make runs in behind while the centre half is on the ball. Eventually they give up and play the long ball

Don't wish to be unkind, but can't help feeling that if this was the under 9 yo Academy team for a Spanish Segundo Div team, several lads would be released. Regardless of playing system, completing a pass that doesn't put the receiver under pressure would be a good start.

All you need is 2 forward passes and you are out. Players either don’t move or they take way too long on the ball which kills us

CP’s either tactically inept OR he doesn’t trust his players to posess the ability to rip through this field of play with tempo & purpose 🤷🏻‍♂️…. Make your own minds up with either or, personally convinced it’s both. Wish everyone connected well but he’s not for me sadly 🫡

Perhaps biggest culprit is Bueno hardly ever passes the ball forward

Is the opposite side of the coin to this though, that we acknowledge that in the first half we progressively played through the line, moved the ball quicker at the back and looked to go forward quicker. You have to be hard pushed to decriminate the first 45. 2nd was average. UTW

Profilbild von Musings from Molineux

Not really. Watford allowed our FBs the freedom of Molineux first half which is how we tended to get up the pitch. Pressed higher second half and this was the result

Just look at the gaps man, the opposition always out number us in key areas. If we didn't have Djiga we'd have conceded a load more and if we didn't have Lopez we wouldn't have as many points, everything in-between Peixoto is getting wrong

Can people stop saying we play with a ten now when we have the ball please, it’s quite evident we don’t. The two 8s dropping 5/10 yards would make us much more fluid in our play and would open up the option to turn instead of running towards our own goal when receiving the ball

'L'art pour l'art', as Victor Cousin once coined. In more modern parlance, this would be known as 'fucking about' 😂 Midfield remains a major issue, not offering an easy immediate outlet to the backline. Either fix that issue or go more direct: just need a GK that can kick!

There's fan out there that would argue this is top class ball retention unfortunately. Consequence of playing Andre on his own in that role. Side to side FC. Need to change the shape and fill the centre of the park.
