SLAPP As far as I know, Prof. Bambang Hero has faced three lawsuits categorised as SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation), in 2018, 2023 and the most recent one in 2025. That’s why, jokingly, I appointed him as the King of SLAPP. So what’s SLAPP? SLAPP stands for Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, lawsuits that are filed with the intent to censor, intimidate, or silence critics by burdening them with the cost of a legal defence until they abandon their criticism or opposition. This is particularly evil because many environmental advocates are not filthy rich. The interesting part is that, based on my observation, although SLAPP cases have been identified in the US in the 1980s, there’s one particular case that, I think, inspired the use of this strategy by natural resource or plantation-based industries in Indonesia: The Resolute vs. Greenpeace SLAPP case. My advice to organisations using or considering SLAPP strategies is: if environmental or social advocates criticise you, please respond to the criticisms with scientific evidence instead of SLAPP. Regardless of the outcome, using SLAPP makes you appear as the loser in the eyes of the public. Watch the full video at

I heard that some anti-Israel and pro-Hamas voices are trying to shut down my tour in the Netherlands. They are saying that I’m an extremist. But what they are doing is exactly what extremism is - to try to silence another voice just because you don’t agree with it. They are not happy that an Israeli Jewish man, is coming to the Netherlands with the truth about Israel. I do I do because I love peace, not war. They are saying: “Naftali is not welcome in the Netherlands”. So I ask you - are you going to let the enemies of Israel silence us? If you disagree with them -then please come to the events in the masses. If they wanted to silence us - let’s bring thousands more, so our voices will be heard loud and clear. One of my main issues with separatism, both in Quebec and in Alberta, is that I view both provinces as part of my inheritance as a Canadian. Carving out either province fundamentally changes my country, and the only people who get a say on such a matter are registered voters currently living in that province. A brand new citizen who became eligible to vote only one day before a referendum would have the ability to vote on whether or not to change Canada forever. My ancestors settled in Alberta in the early 20th century before moving to Ontario. I asked Alberta independence activist Keith Wilson to respond to this concern. Listen to his response:
