Practicing this in time trial and then pulling it off in an actual race was very rewarding tbh. Pretty high stakes as its basically over if you mess up.

Yeah won by a huge lead on this one. There's another nice shortcut just past this part I wish I clipped too. Used my triples to do those too.

its better to keep that single mushroom in the first slot rather than use it as soon as you get to first because the boo could steal all 3 of the triples

I used the triple on the lava shortcut just up the ramp. (with mushrooms you can drive on lava without sinking). You're perhaps right but I wanted to get another item.

The equivalent of labbing a combo in the training room for hours and finally pulling off the combo in an online match.

A question: Does this trick only work with specific vehicles? I tried doing it multiple times with Yoshi + B-Dasher (my personal favorite combo) and I could never get the corner clips at the end. I would never have enough momentum to bounce off the signs.

It definitely can be done on other vehicles but I don't know about the B-Dasher. I'll try it right now and see for ya. It does take some practice to get down
